So, I haven't been paying much attention to RAM as of late, but I'm ready to swap out my G.Skill (F1-3200DSU2-1GBLE) sticks for something larger, but that performs just as well. I see no reason to fill all 4 slots with 512MB sticks, so I'm just going to transition to 1GB sticks.

The sticks need to be able to have OCing potentional without modifying the motherboard. I'm not interested in voltage mods, nor am I interested in tweaking my board hardwarewise. I haven't needed to thus far, and have a rock solid 3.2GHz OC on my FX57. I'd like to keep it that way.

Price isn't a concern. The only concern is performance.

Muhskin PC4000 RAM is pretty damned nice. you'll be able to hit 250 on it without a worry, maybe higher.

I know you probably already know this ronin, but overclocking ram does very very little in the ways of real performance gains. (except for artificial benchies)

It does provide some performance increase, and if money is no object then why not go for that performance?

It does, and if money isnt an object then certainly pay $200 for the extra 2%.

If money is ANY kind object though, RAM is the worst bang for buck part in a system when you consider the price inrease for better timings/overclock.

Ah but we've already got the rest of the rig sorted, and we know that money is no object so while i'd be right with you 99% of the time saying "don't waste your money" this is the one case in 100 where we get to advise the best stuff with a clean concience.

PS: It's more like $100 more anyway ;)

Ronin doesnt spend personal money on all of his hardware iirc.

In which case why the hell should we care about value for money at all?

because he has to buy the memory, he doesnt buy every part, but some of them he does pay for.
