Hello

I need to a new system for my small business.
Stability is the number one criteria.
I've bought mostly Dell systems (Precision T5400) and I guess they are pretty good.

I want a little more customization options, plus I get the felling that Dell systems are always a bit "dated"... I am a bit lazy to build my own system, plus I am clumsy with wiring, etc.

What do you think of:
Uberclock or Maingear

http://www.uberclok.com/
http://www.maingear.com/

Do you think they can provide a system as stable as Dell? I worry that because they are smaller companies they might not do as extensive testing, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with either company?

All advice appreciated!

Why are you looking at gaming system for a buisness solution?

A nice Dell is all you need. They are not behind the times. How much power do you need for work? If you would like a system with an upgrade path then get a Dell XPS system. Then you can add more RAM and a better video card as needed.

What kind of work are you going to be doing with this computer? If you are doing CAD, 3d work or get to play games for a living, then get the tailor made system. If this is standard office work and uptime is important as is turnaround time for warranty issues, get the Dell.
In my experience, Dell can't be touched when it comes to corporate service. The last place I worked, I could order a part online and have it the next day. If I was feeling lazy, I could have a swap monkey out to fix it free of charge.

HP is another story. We had some HP tablets that took months to get fixed. To bad for HP, as their service killed any chance of that company switching from Dell.
A company that purchases $200,000 in computers multiple times a year should get pretty damn good service from a prospective vendor. If they are going to treat someone that would spend a million bucks a year with them, guess how they're going to treat someone that is going to make a 1 time purchase of $1000.

I just wanted to echo what Mr. Lebowski said about Dell - my previous employer was a Dell shop and they had good price, warranties, and quality. I worked in an analytical chemistry laboratory place so our computers were exposed to all sorts of biological matrices, chemicals - both liquid and vapors - and the computers held up very well in these less than ideal situations.

Dell's Latitude line looks very well up-to-date, what with LED backlighting, Core 2 Duo up to 2.8GHz, optional Nvidia graphics, etc. You can easily customize a top-of-the-line model that will satisfy almost all needs.

The only faster processor from big-box laptop manufacturers is I believe the 3GHz option on Apple's Macbook Pro 17".

I believe he is looking for a desktop.

OP, don't get a gaming system when a workstation is needed. Get the proper tool for the job.
