is this system good ?

i will use it for gaming, 3d work and Video Editing 🙂

Since he will be using this for 3D work he probably doesn't want to deal with a lot of the driver issues CrossfireX provides.

If you are going to get one of the two overprice behemoths, get the 590 from NVidia

Now before you jump in with your "but I do 3D so I need super special stuff"-like comments. I also work professionally in 3D Animation and VFX. So don't think the advice I give doesn't have any hands on knowledge behind it.

Now that we're through the Graphics Card, lets talk RAM.

While Corsair Vengeance is 1.5V and will work, it is overpriced by around $20 over here. You can get nice 1600Mhz 1.5V Ram without useless heatspreaders for a lot cheaper and see no noticeable difference in performance.

As a gaming PC, it is a waste of freaking money. As a pro workstation, it is pretty abysmal.

To be honest, the only parts that I would keep out of this setup are the i7, Windows, SSD (curious to hear where you found it in stock), and HDDs.

For the rest, you'll want to take a much more reasonable approach to the core system and include an Nvidia GPU for pro apps. Something like this:

i7 2600K
Hyper 212+ or Noctua D14
GA-P67A-UD3
8GB DDR3 1333 w/o heatspreaders
GTX 570 (580 if you must)
Vertex 3 SSD or Mushkin Callisto Deluxe
2x Spinpoint F3
Fractal Design R3 or Antec P183
Antec, XFX, or Seasonic 650W
Windows 7

That should run you about 50-60% of the cost of what you had picked out and be better for professional apps.

The 4000 really is a lot easier to stomach, but it would be better to spend his money there then on premium RAM and waste a ton on an overpriced mobo. More likely he'll get a performance boost there. I would personally save the money instead though, but that is just me 🙂

Quadro cards do have DX11 now, gaming would not be bad on a Quadro. So not all is lost in the gaming world with a pro build.
