High cpu usage from svchost.exe / wbemcore.dll

My mom noticed that the fan on her laptop was running a lot, and it turns out that one of the svchost.exe processes was using a lot of CPU every couple seconds. Using process explorer I figured out that stopping the SharedAccess service (windows firewall, etc) stops it, and it's wbemcore.dll where the high CPU usage is actually coming from. Where do I go from here if I want to fix this?
