I know which ones they are but not going to say unless someone here says something I don't like. Glad I have something now to hold over their heads. Always nice to have the upper hand.

A Google search for something like this usually results in a bunch of crappy sites that are ad/virus infested and don't index nearly as well as Newzbin.

no, search for nzb, and the next two best ones are in the top five.

Its not rocket science.

I said too much. ^_^

The next hearing in court is mid April. Until then we are required to implement a default policy of blocking movies and TV reports. These will need to be manually authorised by us before they are published. This is cumbersome and, we appreciate, deeply unwelcome. Rest easy that it is temporary and will only last until we can get into court or until we implement a less onerous automatic filter.

As of now registrations have been enabled - You will no longer need an invite to signup for a new account.

Not really that big of a deal. The old school way is not that difficult. Unless of course you never done it before.

The plague of mass litigation “pay up or else” letters has now hit the shores of the United States. 20,000 BitTorrent users are to be targeted soon, with 30,000 in the months to follow. According to new information, 300 movies are set for enforcement action, with their rightsholders receiving just 30% of the spoils.http://torrentfreak.com/

"Your Honor, the 1st rule..."

You do realize by the MPA (Like the MPAA in the US) has exposed thousands if not millions more people to newsgroups now all because of this trial ? People who did not even know what usenet was. Good Job! Lets see them go after Astraweb, Newsleecher ... I dare them.

FFS I wish people would stop pretending Usenet is some insiders club reserved for the elite/very special. Usenet has been around almost since the beginning of time - it's not new, it's not unknown and you're not special because you've recently started using it.

As do I. The MPA I am sure have been knowing about newsgroups for a long time just were going after all the other sites first. To the people who keep talking about the first rule newzbin ignored that as well for making it so easy for the average Joe or Jane to be able to use newsgroups by just clicking a button. It was never meant to be that easy. The people who don't know how to do it the manual way are A) Screwed or B) Have to learn how to do it.

When I was younger and had more time the manual way was fine. Now, I like the convenience of using an indexer. I used to spend hours downloading and going through headers trying to find stuff. It was a pain in the neck!

So a site catagorizing movies into CAM, Screener, Telesync, R5 Retail, Blu-Ray, DVD, HD-DVD DivX, XviD etc was said to participate in copy-write infringement and bent over in court?

SHOCKING!!

The evolution of free software marches on..

You "dare" them? Do you think they are any larger or more powerful than Newzbin? I assure you, they are not.
