Hide root history

At my work we share a root login, which really isn't very secure to begin with as I've warned them before. Anyway, I don't care for people spying on my history and would be interested in hiding what I have typed. Using clear history will make it a little too obvious, I know there's a way to simply make what you type not appear in history as others are already doing it...just can't figure out how.
