my favorite thus far is House of 1000 Doors.
Good puzzles, good objects, neat story.
Also the Edgar Allen Poe series. Great stories.
 
I want that so much if they would put them in the graphically amazing open world games like Witcher 3 I'd go for it. Whether in the original game or modded in.
 
I started replaying some of my favorite HOGs starting with Dracula's Legacy. Hard to believe it all started there for me, 5 years ago.

It still holds up quite well overall, though I do notice the missing quality of life features added to newer games, like pinned inventory, negative combo responses, a map showing available actions, and 3D scenes.
 
Thanks. Any of those stick out for you? I'm going to grab the family mystery ones since I don't have any. We just finished Path of Greed which was pretty good. Of course I got it on sale at steam but not nearly at this price.

As for the others...not really tripping my trigger. A little too whimsical/fantasy for my tastes.

One thing I've noticed is it seems the newer ones seem to be shorter/a lot easier than the older ones.
