Like the topic says I found an HID Corporation Proximity card on my campus and can't figure out what it goes to. Aside from testing every proximity reader I run into (there are a fair amount of them on campus) is there any way getting some information off this thing? If not, is there anything I can do with it now that I have it?

No. They are door access cards and are programmed by very special software
to enable the user to access a specific area or set of areas. They can also be
set to only allow access at or during specific times. The company I am working
for uses the same cards for access into and within the building.

Not to mention that the individual to which the card was assigned will report it lost, in which case the card will be disabled and essentially useless.

In all seriousness tho, just return it to your school's security department and move on.

damn. We have them at work too, but I never was tempted to mess with one until I found this one. Oh well.

If I figure out what it goes to, I'll let you guys know.

edit: I don't even know who I would return the thing to. Probably maintenance since they are the only ones I know of who use them.

Your school will most likely have a security office - they will (should) know who is responsible for building access and the like.
