Question Hi, I have an old Intel DX58SO mobo running an i7 920 and looking to upgrade the cpu to xeon 3690 that the board specs indicate compatibility.

The thing is that I bought it already the w3690 but when I swapped it it didnt post or boot. Then i bought two w3680 (really cheap on ebay) and didnt work either. Al three cores when i put them on and start the pc, they power on for 3-4 seconds, then power off for 2 seconds and then on again with no further activity. Does anybody here have any suggestions of what am i doing wrong? I'd appreciate any help Thank you

Unfortunately, Intel no longer provides tech support for older products and I cant find a legit url that i could download the relevant file. I checked the internet archives but the said file doesn't exist.It was only saved up to the INTEL disclosure/ must consent on terms and conditions (http://web.archive.org/web/20100506...Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18938&lang=eng)
