I know it's big and spacy inside your freakin SUV, but there's a world outside of your fvcking SUV! So, how about look outside once in a while?!?!

Yup, almost got killed by some fat dude driving in a Suburban. I was passing him, god knows how far I have to go to fully pass the whole damn car, this idiot decide to change into my lane without even looking. Nearly put me into the center divider on the freeway. I bet he doesn't know he cuts two other cars behind me off as well.

Driving a tiny econobox or family car and being a dumbass driver are not exactly mutually exclusive, you know.

It's trendy these days to bash SUV drivers. I drive not only an SUV, but one that's lifted 4 inches and has tires higher than the mirrors on most family cars.

AND I can't tell you how many times I have had to jerk the wheel and put the truck in the divider b/c some soccer mom in her minivan was trying to change a diaper w/the kid in the baby seat in the BACK seat while driving. :disgust:

Or how many 98 year old men driving a Caddy Fleetwood cut me off b/c they decided they like my lane better. Causing me to slam on my brakes and almost get rear ended. Unless you're in a truck, if you rear end me, you're going UNDER my truck. I don't want this to happen.

It's the driver, not the vehicle, guys.

That sucks. You did lay on the horn and flip him the finger, right?

I just added a stick-on convex mirror to the driver side view mirror on my pickup. It makes a HUGE difference.

You guys bitch too much about SUVs. There are stupid motorists that have little cars too you know. There is much better visibility in a surburban than your Civic, and no excuse other than not paying attention for an action like that. The Guy was a jagoff, and it wasn't the cars fault.

They don't belong on the road.. they belong OFF-ROAD, the way it supposedly be.

My only accident involved a dumbass SUV driver and spazmatic behaviour. I couldn't avoid at all since he swerved into me as I passed him. For no reason at all... he was making left turn and I was continuing straight on the right lane. He claimed something distracted him and he swerved to the right to avoid "it"... methinks he just smelled his own fart.

yeah, the SUV only makes each individual driver more dangerous to other cars thanks to weigh and size.

The SUV's I hate are the ones being driven by the ditzy self-centered blonde on her cellphone with 3 kids in the back. No sh!t she can't pay attention to the road.

Oh and btw, this is why I always own a fast econobox. So I can stay far away from drivers like that. Better to avoid the accident in the first place.

I love driving my huge Durango, and being able to sit higher than all the pee-ons in their low compact cars. It's like my throne of the road. Yeah, I'm the king of the road. ;)

I prefer the ones that you can rotate 360 degrees. They are VERY nice. You can dial in your blindspots and make them virtually non-existant.

That does not make them necessarily more likely to cause an accident, duder.

You can classify people by driver type -- i.e. senile old person, self-absorbed soccer mom, dumb teenage bitch, etc., but the fact that they're driving a more or less lethal vehicle is irrelevant.

I have a full size pickup - Toyota Tundra (that I actually *gasp* use to haul crap around) and the bumpers are about equal with more passenger cars.

I know it's small and cramped inside your freakin civic, but there's a world outside of your fvcking civic! So, how about look outside once in a while?!?!

Yup, almost got killed by some skinny computer geek driving in a civic. SUV's ain't so bad -- if they use the 'S' in SUV.

My main problem is these gas-guzzling oversized station wagons is that they are used to pick up the kids, to go to work by yourself, and just to have a bigger vehicle than your neighbor. One of my first cars was a Bronco II. When it snowed, we would take that things out and spin in the mud. That is an SUV.

I also blame these SUV's for raising our gas-prices. If there were less on the road, demand would be less for gas, ergo lower prices. Get a SUV because you need a SUV, not because you need an oversized station wagon.

BTW, it is the drivers, not vehicle. Far too many drivers have no business 10 feet from a car.

Never over.
I don't care about their fuel economy or anything like that. I just care that people buy those 6,000 lb. houses-on-wheels to hide the fact that they never actually learned how to drive... :disgust:

That does not make them necessarily more likely to cause an accident

they have alot higher rate of rollover, even excluding the whole firestone/ford exploder debacle that killed 130+ ppl a few years ago. surprised we didn't hear much about a class action lawsuit, maybe it was settled.

creating more danger on the road as a whole drive up the insurance rates of all. last week in an albertsons parking lot two cars were backing out at the same time, the normal car stopped a few feet out when they realized the other car was gonna hit em, but the SUV continued to back out and into them, their mirror was probably too high up to see all the little cars directly behind them. each side blamed each other but i can assure you both their insurance rates will go up.

furthermore in socal, i pretty much never see an SUV with more that 1 ppl in it. like to the rate of 1/12 have a 2nd person, but hey, u can do that in a normal car huh? that means atleast the other 11/12 are just wasting gas. and who pays at the pump? not just the "$60 a tank because i can" person but everyone else as well

And to keep with the trend here.

I drive a Civic. I'm fully aware that there's maybe six inches between me and the outside world on the driver's side, and I drive accordingly. Drive whatever the hell you want, just do it well.

Oh, and MichaelD ... I'll put some lowering springs on the grocery-getter and see if I can actually drive under that Land Yacht of yours. :D

While it is a crappy parody kids driving little Civics cut me off and tailgate me more often than anyone in an SUV. It seems since Honda makes F1 engines everyone driving one should drive like their in an F1 race. ;)
