I'm looking to memorize all the cable lengths. Would it be ok if I rounded the lengths, or is that a trick they test for when asking questions on the exams?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

You probably can get away with rounding cable lengths, although I wouldn't recommend it. The questions you will be getting are mostly situations where the cable lengths are far to long to work.

Like the length a cable can go before it starts to attenuate, without the assistance of a receiver?

You can generally round, but its not like memorizing them is hard. In my network essentials test, they only asked you about 10baset, thinnet and thicknet, so memorize those and you should be fine.

1 meter = around 3.3 feet

Thanks for your opinions. I'm just lazy and round numbers are easier to remember is why I asked. Looks like I'll make an effort and memorize the exact lengths even though it's not needed.
