I absolutely do 2 buttons undone at work, depending on the shirt. What I absolutely can't stand is literally all the way buttoned up with no tie. A guy did that in an interview and I had a no on him before he even opened his mouth.

Also: dress shoes with no socks.

Banded collar is alright. I was hoping what I said about the interviewee was ridiculous enough for people to realize it was a joke, but I guess not. He didn't get the job, but thats because he sucked.

Our IT guy always has 2 or 3 buttons undone on all his shirts and he does look like a throw away from the 1980's disco era. Dumbass....

You should make a helpful suggestion everytime you see him. "Hey, your shirt is unbuttoned..." After doing it a few times it'll be funny to see his reaction: either he'll start buttoning it or he'll yell out in frustration "IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT!"
