So, I'm going to Texas. Mainly to visit Austin, but I'd figure I'd stay in San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas for a couple nights.
Booked a hotel "in" Dallas for 2 nights - $63.25. Double queen bed room. All for myself... Hostels weren't much less expensive. ($50+ for two nights in a room with 5 other people)
Booked a hotel "in" Austin for 4 nights - $231.84. Double queen bed room, AGAIN. All for myself! But, hey, whatever. It's a decent hotel with decent reviews. (Marriott) The only alternatives were about $32 cheaper in total and I thought, "Eh, may as well get a 3 star and an 'Excellent' reviewed hotel according to Kayak..." Hostels are about $30 a night to share with 5 other people. You can get smaller rooms for more, but I may as well get a private room at a hotel. So, I did.
Nothing else is booked yet. I'm not sure what I'm going to really do in Houston and SA. I'm not even going to really be in Dallas for very long. I'm getting in after 10+ hours of driving, eating out somewhere, then going to be checking in, going to bed, waking up... showering (so good) and then finding a coffee shop or starbucks to work at for 8 hours. (Working remotely) And then, nothing. No plans. Nothing worth seeing on a Monday. Probably just drive around, maybe sight-see a couple things.
Going to Austin on the day after. This is where most of my interest is when it comes to Texas. I'll probably do a lot more while I'm there.
Anyway, suggestions?
Here's the route I'm taking. I'm driving it. (Ridesharing though to pay for my gas)
