SAN DIEGO -- Two robbery suspects died at the end of a brief South Bay police chase Friday when the stolen car they were in plowed into a truck and caught fire, trapping them inside, authorities reported.
The pursuit began about 10:15 a.m., when patrol officers spotted two men in a Honda sedan speeding from the scene of a strongarm robbery at a senior center at Kimball Park in National City, according to investigators.
A few blocks to the southwest, the fleeing driver lost control of the vehicle at 16th Street and Coolidge Avenue, causing it to skid into a delivery truck and burst into flames, the NCPD's Maria Arcega-Dunn said.
Both occupants of the sedan died in its burning wreckage. The truck driver was uninjured, Arcega-Dunn said.
The suspects remained unidentified in the mid-afternoon, she said.
Sorry, don't have a link. Got it from another forum. Happened in San Diego however...
