It's acutally a pad i got as part of my ATOT SS present. It's a regular clothe pad, just the amount of friction i like.

I just use my desktop which works fine, but I might try the waxpad if I get bored. And if we have any waxpaper in the house.

Here's a long-term perspective on the Func mousepads: My friend has had one for about two years with the MS Intellimouse Optical and the surface is actually rubbed away. On the rough side there's a huge smooth patch that doesn't glide very well. The same with the smooth side.

I have used an Icemat for two years, and it is by far the smoothest, most accurate mousepad I've ever used, even after two years. I compared it between the Func and I liked the smoothness of the Icemat hands down. With teflon footies on the mouse it glides effortlessly across the pad.

my func 1030 rubbed away. I've been using the Aqua 3 (I think that's what it's called) for over a year now and I LOVE it. It's huge, and it's a soft material. Can throw it in the washer and everything.

I have a memory foam cloth pad, but the silcone spray on desk sounds like a good idea.
