Are any of you using this http://www.jlajoie.com?

There is a reference at the site for using it for SETI. The neat feature is that it will write to disk periodically so that you won't lose all your work in an unplanned shutdown.

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan too.

SETI writes to the disk regularly anyway ,but it could be useful for someone using a RAM drive setup :)
Thanks :) ,reading it now........

Ah ha ,it is a RAM drive util :) ,which can be configured to save at regular intervals :)

Looks interesting. Might help WU times somewhat, especially for people with slow hard drives (like me :)).

I doubt you'll see much of an improvement ,my PII 280 uses an old slow 450Mb HDD & it still manges to do a WU time in of about 10hrs 20 mins :).(CLiv2.4)
However CLi v2.4 accesses the HDD far less than v2.0 or the GUI version too I think

Still worth a try though :)

I already use DOS's Ramdisk for SETI in Windows. Now if someone could tell me how to set up a ramdisk in Linux (~512k) I'd be all set! :)
