Hey Rocketfish Case users

evident

Lifer
This case is great, except when i close my case i get a rattle coming from the door. if i press the door in a little more, the rattle goes away, sometimes it comes back, sometimes it stays that way till the next time i have to open the case. i tried tighening some of the screws around there, but nothing seems to get rid of it for good.

any of you guys experience this?

I don't have one, but it's pretty common with thin doors. Get some thin foam tape, or even regular tape layered to the thickness you want, and place it where the door meets the frame. Same effect of pressing the door in. Don't go overboard or you'll just make it hard to re-attach the door.

A lot of aluminum cases seem to be rattley. You just need to locate the source and use something to shim or pad the appropriate area. You can damp the whole door using some of the high density insulation sheeting they use in auto sound installation. One site that was recommended here seems to carry a lot of that type of stuff in numerous grades - unf. I've forgotten the name.

My door locks tightly and does not rattle but that may be because I put anti vibration grommets on all moving things. If yours does rattle, the suggestions above are good solutions to your problem, a little padding or weatherstripping is all you need.
