Is our trade working well for you?

I'm not really sure if I have the client set up right.

Will post the .ini in a bit, but thought I'd ask to see if you have gotten better output.

here's the .ini

[parameters]
id=xxxxxx@xxxe.com
[networking]
keyserver=proxy.teamanandtech.com
nofallback=true
autofindkeyserver=no
dialup-watcher=disabled

[misc]
run-work-limit=0
project-priority=RC5,OGR

[rc5]
fetch-time-threshold=4
preferred-blocksize=33
randomprefix=11

[buffers]
checkpoint-filename=cp
frequent-threshold-checks=4

[triggers]
restart-on-config-file-change=yes

danzig,

I don't know about the trade of course ;) but the .ini looks good :) You might want to buffer a little more than 4 hours work, just in case you lose your internet connection for an extended period of time, but with buffer checks set to 4 you won't fetch/flush unless an inbuffer is empty, so again that might not be the best :eek:

Here's what I would do: set the buffer level to 72hrs or 96hrs and buffer level checks to 3 (my favourite option;)) and the interval to 4 hours ;) thus your buffers will still be updated every 4 hours, but you'll have 3 or 4 days worth of work buffered ;)

Here's what I'm talking about in .ini format (just the appropriate parts, everything else should be as you have it;)):

[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=3
threshold-check-interval=4:00
[rc5]
fetch-time-threshold=72
preferred-blocksize=33

Just my $0.02 of course :cool:

no sparcs, OGR - RC5 trade

TF this .ini is what was from adul's site, minus the ogr that was in there.

Guess I will need to look up some things on that pc, Well once Poof replies to this that is;)

Thx all

danzigrules - whatever you end up should be okay... I'm starting to really begin to monitor my output now, and with your contribution plus me adding 1/2 a cow (my P3 600@950 contributing just under 700,000 KKeys/s), I've seen a good-sized jump in the stats...

:D

Are you seeing your OGR blocks okay? It seems that it's completing at least 2 stubs a day (avg ~2.53 MNodes/s) and is set to check in every 3 hours ("fetch-time-threshold=3")... I guess I could change that to once a day or something...

LOL Hellburner - no one would want to run anything on my sparc... ;)

It does a 2.0 SETI WU in 153 hours, so it's my "SETI Hall of Shame" machine. I'm still waiting for a 3.x client for it... :|

And thanks TwoFace for whatever help you can give us...!!! :)

Oh and Hellburner... yes I'm burnt out now... ;)

Too much jumping up and down and screaming about Bezerkeley and SETI as I think you've noticed... ;)

But... since a gauntlet has been thrown down by JWM and a new cracker, I have a race to 100K blocks to try to work on!

;)

well if you are dumping every 3 hours, then yes I am seeing them :)

I was looking at my pc's saying which one just dumped ;)

You can leave it like that or maybe go for 2 dumps a day?

Doesn't matter to me you can keep the same way if ya want :)

Just read about the gauntlet. Tell me all about it ;)

Errr is this comp supposed to do OGR?!? If so why is the priority set like this:

<< [misc]
run-work-limit=0
project-priority=RC5,OGR
>>

With that setup the client will be doing RC5 not OGR :confused: if it's supposed to do OGR disregard my previous statement about the .ini, change the order to OGR,RC5 and add this instead:

[ogr]
fetch-workunit-threshold=XX

With XX being the number of stubs you do in a day or so... you might want to consider the buffer level checks and buffer level stuff I wrote about still tho', but extend the check interval to 6 or 8 hours, as OGR stubs can take a LOOONG time to finish :frown:

Let me know what you want and I shall deliver ;)

Cool then! I'll leave it the way it is.

I have the pproxy on my dual Xeon server and I leave the window running so I can see the cows all flushing... ;)

Even though I run seti (and my Setiqueue console is open right next to the pproxy one) and am used to an upload here and there, I've gotten so used to RC5 just cranking... I gotta kindof think of OGR being more like SETI with the smaller number of WUs completed per day!

And regarding the battle...heh. JWM's keyrate was something like 10MKeys/sec...

:Q

Technically, if I switched every machine in here (I can't use work machines... :() over to doing nothing but RC5, I could probably dump like 3800 blocks/day (not counting the alpha's contribution - haven't benched that to see what it would be, although I understand alphas sortof suck at RC5).

It's just that I'm running so many different things, so this'll make me do some REAL good tweeking! heh heh

;)

Oh... TwoFace...!!!

danzig is doing RC5 for me and I'm doing OGR for him!!

His PII is good for RC5 and my K6-2 for OGR!

I'm running the OGR on NetBSD and the ini file is really tiny the way the ./dnetc -config thingy did it... ie.:

[misc]
project-priority=OGR,RC5=0,DES=0,CSC=0

[networking]
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=192.168.1.9

[ogr]
fetch-time-threshold=3

The keyserver is my pproxy.

Poof,

Take a look at the bottom of the list on the SETI clients download page.. ;)

AHHH... you guys think I'm running that wayward 2.6 Solaris client flushing through Orangekid's???? ;)

That ain't me...!

I don't run Solaris on my sparc - I'm a linux dudette! :D

Besides the hard drive on my little sparc is only 250MB!!! :(

Plus my sparc linux client is listed as "client port to be determined" and my alpha linux is listed as "client expected by 2001-02-17" (which was previously "expected" 2001-01-18...:()

I'm still running a 2.4 alpha linux and 2.0 sparc linux client and results for both are being credited... ;)

LOL

I saw that display from Orangekid's and was ROTFLMAO. I'm surprised there aren't more old clients out there trying to upload to that queue and getting that error message, although I know that it was only recently setup and most people had upgraded before the deadline...

Oh well... somebody's losing production... :(

Poof: yawn...Good morning!

<< But... since a gauntlet has been thrown down by JWM and a new cracker, I have a race to 100K blocks to try to work on! >>

When I first started RC5 on Dec 30th, I thought you had about 30k blocks. So, when you said you were headed for 100k soon, I thought a race might be in order since that is my short-term goal also. I checked you RC5 stats and thought you had 65k, but now I see that I was looking at your ranking. /me :eek: Remember me making the comment that you were 10k ahead of me, not so. I am about 10k ahead of you. So, I am removing my challange, unless you insist we continue.

All these early birds out here this morning... ;)

'Mornin JWM...

The challenge can stand... :) (even though I was shaking at your keyrate :Q)

But if I wanted to, I could switch everything I have at home over to RC5 right now and produce at least 3800 blocks/day... ;).

I think for the good of the TeAm, let's continue that race anyway! Time for me to tune these machines to the hilt! And anyone else in our block range should join in!!!

*waves Ray's cane*

Yawn...still not awake! :)

A potential of 3800 block per day...Hmmmm....maybe you are serious! :D

See you at the finish line! :):D
