Smashing good point, however, I think I will abandon this post for this News and Polotics board. Maybe not today, or tommorow, or next week. But two weeks from now.

Weather a person believes in an organized religions presentation of God or not, we all put faith in some abstract ideas. Some worship money... look at their lives, some fall victim to worshiping mind altering substances (ATOT ). The point being, we all have some ideals which shape the way we look at ourselves and the world. Many people after tying many of these other systems, choose what I would call the 'God abstraction'.

While it ma seem that the Devil can take it easy becasue of all the things the Christinas do, the first point I would like to establish in this debate is that we ALL serve 'something/one.'

I do not believe the only reason for organized religion is

because they want to, they want a divine force in their lives because at heart all humans wish to take orders, there is always someone better. We want to see our dearly deceased after we die, so we pathologically believe in the dietys that our ancestors create, we want to be rewarded after a life of toil.

I would assert the purpose of a belief system is to organize the way we relate to each other and the world. Dieties and religions offer a 'prepackaged' belief system with a power community to operate within.
