Subarus pwn toyota in terms of handling, AWD and stuff.

I rented an Outback a while back. It's a pretty nice wagon that handled pretty well. I just can't stand the numb driving experience a Toyota gives you.

Venza is probably the most boring concept of all: a Toyota station wagon. Plus it's uglier than Paris Hilton. Get an outback. At least you have the choice of having fun with all the practicality of the wagon.

My sister has a Sequoia and she loves it. Sure the gas mileage isn't that good but in contrast to the Jeep Grand Cherokee she had before, she hasn't had a single problem with her Toyota.

Yeah..because they don't make the Venza with AWD

It's not just the AWD. It's the suspension/steering and feel of the vehicle that will be different. Unless Toyota has used their stake in Subaru to bring some of the rally tech to their cars.

i think the styling of it is very nice. alot nicer than anything toyota has put out recently. As far as the rest, i dont really know how well it handles . seems like a very practical car though

I like the styling and interior better than most recent Toyota models. I think it's looks different enough from the Camry to be considered a mid-sized crossover. I like it enough that I would test-drive it.

I remember the Camry wagon from the mid 90's; now that was ugly.

So OP, if you're looking for a car-based vehicle with some cargo space, this could work. It obviously doesn't have the towing or offroad capabilities of a Highlander or 4Runner though.

No more practical than any other crossover SUV.

C'mon. I've driven an Outback fairly regularly...and while I recommend it regularly to people...it is FAR from some rally-tech infused vehicle. I highly doubt the Venza is as engaging to drive...but from a utilitarian basis...it looks to be pretty decent.

Every review I read stated that the steering and handling feel is very un-toyota like which shoulod be good enough reason to place it on your test drive list, right after Outback XT test drive, that is.

C'mon. I've driven an Outback fairly regularly...and while I recommend it regularly to people...it is FAR from some rally-tech infused vehicle. I highly doubt the Venza is as engaging to drive...but from a utilitarian basis...it looks to be pretty decent.

Yeh, it's pretty obvious who hasn't driven a recent Outback wagon. They are a snorefest to drive. The gear is so weighted to economy that they are a dud around town. And their suspensions are tuned for comfort. It was like slow Buick in pseudo-suv armor.

The previous gen Forester was much more lively to drive.
