Don't mix up our youth with the youth of the snowflake generation and helicopter parents. Yep, I've been guilty. Wife wanted me to let the kid do woodworking with me. Told her not bitch if he came back minus a finger. She banned him from my shop.

My Mom would said to rub some dirt on it.
 
In the old days TVs didn't have such obscure buttons on the panel and actually had fewer buttons on the remote than the set. Now when you lose a remote, you can lose a bunch of functionality....back then when you lost a remote you could have your wife or kids change the channel for you.
