Well, my friend right now is in the Canadian army. I AM DEAD SERIOUS. :D Now, he hates it and wants to join the U.S. Army. Does anyone know how he can do this? He wants to get out and move to the states, he hates it up there!!!

Oh, he also said they don't even have a helicopter. :Q

Our helicopters are generally used in the AIR FORCE. :p

Cool pic of our AF choppers.

I mean no offence, but why don't they just paint a big ass bullseye on them?

They don't even have guns?

No offense, but those thing look like they should have a St.Bernard slung under them.

You DO NOT have to be an American citizen to join. On FoxNews yesterday, they had one of their reporters interview a marine on live tv... aside from saying he was "pissed off" because he's fighting for a country that won't give him citizenship, he said it's possible to join without it. He has been in the US since 6-months of age but had some teenage problems (hence the rejection).

Even the reporter was surprised. He went on to say that he was hoping "somebody" would see this and help him out. He was of vietnamese decent but has been in the US military (lieutenant if I recall) for 6 years.

Last year when I was in Virginia I was in a Mall (Just outside of DC). Huge mall, on the way to the FBI Academy. I am Canadian; when I was in the mall I did a little experiment. I walked into the recruiting center and was like "I want to join, but I have one catch. I am Canadian". They told me that it does not matter at all. Canadians can join; you just have to do a background check.

I could be wrong, but I believe prior U.S military service really helps when it comes acquiring U.S citizenship. If it doesn't improve the applicants chances then it damn well should. There are many useless immigrants (and children of immigrants) over here that have U.S citizenship. The ones that choose to serve this country should certainly receive the priviledge of citizenship without a bunch of hassle.

yea, no sh!t. this guy wants to become a career military professional, he should be able to vote for his commander in chief, and he should be able to get the financial security and benefits that go along with that. although he'd prolly miss the free health care ;)

My wife's dad was in the Phillipine navy then joined the American navy, don't think they really care as long as you are not from France, the Hamas or any other whacko groups.
