hey do they test for drugs in your system before surgery?

yea i smoked half a joint of marijuana a week ago, and the surgery should be by 3rd week of april and pretest prob a week or 2 before.
 
Lol, just tell your doc what kind of drugs are in your system. He's not gonna report you to the cops or anything, and it would probably be best for you just for your own safety (who knows how some of these things would mix) but you are probably fine. And no they wouldn't drug test you. 😛

That sucks. You'll be doing it with out any anesthesia. Enjoy the surgery.
 
No they do not, unless they have reason to believe you are high when you came in, court order, or request of guardian if you are under 12. At least that is the policy at my dad's hospital.
 
he has 6 weeks to go before the surgery... isnt that more than enough time to get just about ANYTHING out of his system.

You could just not tell him I suppose and hope they don't test you, or you could tell him and see what he advises. You are the one going under the anesthesia so you are taking your health into your own hands. I'm not sure exactly what kind of things happen to you (I had always assumed nothing but I guess I never really thought about it) but if you still have marijuana in your system that is your call whether to come clean with him. Anyways, good luck. 🙂
