ICE grabbed an illegal German immigrant from a manufacturing plant from a town I used to live in. Illegal Germans taking our jobs.....

LOL. Don't know about that. I was surprised that my former company's tooling plant was offshored to Germany, who was actually charging more for the tooling than the US. Stranger still, I talked to an ex-coworker who is still with that company and he told me that the company is trying to train US workers to build the same style tools here because it costs too much to build them there. Serves them right.

I remember this one car that had some silly message about the rapture on the back (can't remember the exact line). But they spelled it 'rupture'.

I only buy American. Had a 4 runner once and did not last to any kind of abuse I give. Mostly democrat.

PS real Americans drive trucks. Heavy duty diesel ones.:p In my center console I can put a full sized laptop and can pull a 6000 lb pontoon boat and not even notice it's there.

About 4 runner. Broke 3 A arms in first 2 months living in sticks and liking it. and burned out tyranny towing my international scout out of back woods who punctured radiator with a tree. Basically I totaled a 6 month old Toyota through use.

In San Francisco, every single BMW that drives by has an "Obama" sticker.

They haven't gotten around to removing them yet.

Not true, mine doesn't.

I should say, neither one of mine does :)

You have a good point. Up in Canada, it's generally the conservatives that want to do mining, cut down trees, drill oil, and make things. Liberals tend to be the ones wanting to protect a forest from something, stop drilling oil because of... something, shut down everything because of some bird nobody cares about.

If I'm not mistaken, USA imports a ridiculous amount of lumber because hippies put harsh restrictions on trees. USA does not have a shortage of trees, but is not allowed to cut down most of those trees.

I laughed... only because of the "by" part.

that was the only point of this thread. Guess I should have known it would devolve into P&N nonsense.

I just thought it was funny someone would put up a huge sticker and couldn't properly spell "buy." :shrug

That's the job of America - to burn out tyranny everywhere!

I think a car from a foreign company is just as likely to be manufactured in the US as a car from a US company. US companies don't always manufacture in the US either.

I buy whatever is reliable, with no regard to whether it is foreign or domestic. If the American manufacturers want people to buy their cars, maybe they should make them better? Although they have gotten better in recent years.

If everyone thought like that then the American companies wouldn't have to worry about competing with foreign competition. Cost isn't the only thing that's driving people's choices.

Exactly...the partisan rivalry is no fun here on ATOT...it ruins threads all the time.

Yeah, I still see Bush/Cheney stickers. I'm fairly passionate about politics but I'd never put one of these stickers on my car. Although, I would have put a no on Prop 8 sticker on my car if I could have gotten one when that stupid proposition was on the ballot.

I would drive an American car as a daily driver if they actually had a car with an emphasis on efficiency that I could afford.

My utility vehicle is American - Chevy C1500, but I doubt I put more than a 1,000 miles a year on it as it is too expensive to drive all the time.

It's still not uncommon to see the Ford F-250's with the "W" sticker in the window...or "Bush/Cheney" stickers...Some folks just can't let go of their "glory days." :p
