Hey, Bombrman......

It's called "Private Messages". I think they just added them in the latest version of FuseTalk so I can understand you not knowing about them.

Were you in the Army?
Was and am, yes.

I salute you. I was Army and damned proud of it. Arty, if if matters. FO. If it moved it died.
No kidding? That's awesome. I'm an FSO 🙂

Happy to meet you, Bro. It was long ago that I used to call you guys for support. I'm sure the technology has changed and made it more accurate, but back then it was mostly guestimation to bracket a target.

It's changed a little as me and my team do our CFF's using a Bradley-mounted laser, but we still do the guesstimating and bracketing method from time to time.

As a matter of fact, I'm teaching a class on the guesstimating/bracketing method this Friday 🙂

Welcome, Bro, there is always room for one more. 🙂

I had the pleasure of calling in mortars, 105's, 155's, 175's, 8 inchers (Marine), fast movers and, one time, the 16 inchers from the Battleship New Jersey in an assault on the DMZ at Gio Linh in 1968.

Helluva sight I will never forget. <hat off>

Wow, I can imagine

I doubt I'll ever get to call in naval gunfire, but I did see some A10 action this past week :Q

Ahh, artillery, the King of Battle.

And then you have us SF guys, the nonconformist misfits of battle 😉

It wasn't a matter of wanting to at that time. I just got caught up in the whole thing and along with my team we had pretty much free fire from and to anything we needed. Hard to explain.

I've been in 3 months and I am already being invoulentarily(sp) reassigned. *sigh*

"Reassigned" to another MOS or to active status?

either a new MOS or probably a new unit. My unit that I am in is getting a new MTOE (may have misspelled that a bit) and there will no longer be a slot. I don't go to basic for another few months, which should make it interesting.
