cosmetic stuff is usually easier to get through the FDA than life-sustaining stuff. so figuring out how to make stem cells work through hair loss will give a head start in figuring out how to make them work with nerve damage or heart repair.

big article in wired a couple months back about how a person's own stem cells were being used in breast reconstruction first because the FDA will more easily allow it.

I've had twenty years to get used to being bald. At first I was bummed, but quickly learned getting teh wimmenz was all about my confidence and attitude.

Now I'm already married, so don't care. I plan to keep getting fatter, hairier, stinkier, surlier, and grunt-ier. When my current wife gets fed up I'll, like, get back in shape and work on my personality or something.*

no, just that the money in useless cosmetic shit (the real problem being an individual's personality and not x "malady") drains far too much from what could be used to help research real problems.
