5-min sketch of girl on campus quad

Used Conte Crayon on Sketch Paper

I have much, much better pictures, ones that I actually took time on (and more recent since that one is about a year old), but alas, my sketchbook is on its way to China right now (and I'm not) . . ..

I dont have a digicam so I cant take a pictures of my oil paintings (maybe tomorrow I can borrow one). So instead, here are 2 minute sample pics i made in painter with a 12x18 wacom tablet.

I have difficulty drawing a straight line with a ruler, but my wife is talented, she can sketch, illustrate and paint. Here is one of her oil on canvas paintings untitled c1997 woops, actually it was 1992, looking at the image file it looked like 97 but on the painting I can see it is 1992

I am WAY not an artist. I never draw anything, never even doodle, I have no sense of perspective. This is the only thing I've drawn in the last five years or so. Please take it easy on me: sketch.

edit: oh yeah, expand the pic if you have the autofit settings on, because it doesn't look too good small.

You can tell which figure I focused more on. Drew it from a digital photo I had on the computer.

Uhm, I'm in no position to really critique, but if I may point a few things out;

You might want to reduce the size of the guy's pupil to half its size right now; he looks a bit . . . scary right now.

Anyhoo, the quote I bolded reminds me of what Picasso said "'artist' is a gift word" - you can't really call yourself an artist; no offense to anyone here, but if freakin' Picasso said that he can't call himself an artist, then well, I'm sure as hell not going to call myself an 'artist', IMO; btw, what qualifies even in 'gift word' terms, for someone to be called an 'artist'?

yep only talent i see so far and I hate it when ppl say "im an artist" i dunno why... but like u said, it just sounds weird to me when one claims self as an artist . mmm let me find some of my work . kekeke...
