Hey. Just thought I would post so you guys could get to know myself a little better. Sorry if any of it sounds n00ish or stupid.
My name is Tavis.
I am a 21yr old male currently attending my local community college and I'm a work-study student there. I have my AAS Information Systems Tech. degree, and I lack one more semester of acquiring my AAS Networking Tech degree. I am A+ certified and I look to be CCNA certified as it would GREATLY help with a job (especially here in crappy Lexington, NC). I would also like to get other CompTIA certs.
I've posted a LOT a few years ago on Planethardware.com before Gamespy decided to stop all the hardware reviews. I've lately tried to get back into it over at Tomshardware Forumz and I'm going to try here and HardOCP forums as well.
This place appeals to me though! As in, I am interested in the HIGHLY TECHNICAL forum just from reading one post just now. I also run a lot of BOINC projects (both at home and on computers at my college that I manage), hardware, operating systems, and networking are my FAVORITE things to do and mess around with. I am also into space-related things.
My home PCs and network basically consist of about 30 PCs all networked using a few 24 port 10/100 switches and a 4 port and 8 port gigabit switch (the short version.....the long version will be posted here: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=36&threadid=1776338&enterthread=y hehe)
There's a lot more to me of course but that's the short version. If you have MySpace, my profile is here (hasn't been updated in a while)
I personally think I can help out with replies here granting that I have time. I think I have a lot to give on certain subjects (and sometimes take when I'm asking for help hehe ;-))
I experiment a lot in my free time, but now I will not have much free time as the Spring semester just started. So I may not be able to reply or post a lot because of my homework. It probably won't matter to most, just thought I would mention that.
