Hewlett Packard P1000 the problem the whole time?

An interesting but long story - I apologize ahead of time for the length.

I put a system together for a client not too long ago and I picked out most of the components for him, but he insisted on this Hewlett Packard P1000 (because it has two card readers built into it that he doesn't use).

I got him set up and running with Windows Me and everything seems fine and then one day he gets this Buzz Lightyear 1st Grade software that won't run after it is installed. Then he tries installing some new digital camera software and a card reader nd neither one of those will install.

I figure he has screwed something up on it and so after trying several different fixes I take it home and reformat it and put the trusty Windows 98 SE on. I reinstall a bunch of the software and everything but the peripherals (scanner, printer, webcam) and the Buzz game is running fine. Problem solved, right?

So, I take it back to his place and start installing the peripherals and when I am done and getting ready to leave, I just try Buzz to make sure it is still working. Doesn't work.

I think great, something here messed me up. I uninstall each piece starting with the Webcam then the scanner and finally the printer. It works after the printer is uninstalled and I put the other two devices back on and it is going great now.

Bottom line is that the printer screwed the whole thing up. Anybody else run into problems with this printer? And if so, how did you resolve?
