read the comic, it explains the stabbing part. Hiro stabbed who he though was Sylar before he exploded and of course, Peter regenerated. He thought that was Sylar the whole time. the string theory explains how the time travel will work. there are some events changed and some not.

Here's a question for ya'll to ponder overnight. Would Claire actually ever lose her virginity? I mean think about it. Anything that would break/tear down there would heal up immediately afterwords. Don't you think her fiance would've noticed something? Of course they COULD be waiting until marriage...but ya. Just some pointless random thought that popped up in my head and thought i'd share it with you all 😛

IMO he gets the scar after he explodes new york. Guessing its another peter changing type of thing. Teenager hair -> cut off and moves on to being adult and getting his hands dirty in all the squabbling -> scar after explosion -> future badass peter. Don't really think it has anything to do with his regeneration getting messed up tbh, just a symbolism element.
Parkman finally grows a spine, unfortunately he unwittingly works for President Sylar.
Sounded like Claire's dad took a bullet after Parkman got her 10-20 from him.
Why does future Hiro think Sylar acquired Claire's healing power especially since in his timeline she is alive? (Well until she meets Mr. President.) My guess is that he assumed Sylar has her power and in his research, Hiro was mislead by HRG into thinking his cheerleader daughter was killed by Sylar.
Does Peter blow up the city by accident or in a vain attempt to kill Slyar? What your best guess?
I don't think Slyar used the 'doppleganger HERO skill' to fool Hiro into stabbing someone else. That girl used that power to disguise herself not others.
Peter's scar looks like it's from a sword blow. If Hiro mistook him as Sylar in a fight that would explain why Hiro saw someone heal. Of course that doesn't explain why Peter didn't later set Hiro straight.
Perhaps Peter couldn't heal himself because the Haitian intervened at some point between when he received the cut and before he completely headed, and stopped his healing power. At least partially and so he scars.

That's false, we know she can alter entire environments, not just herself. When she setup HRG she was posing as his wife while concealing 3 members of the company at the same time...her powers are that of an illusionist, not exactly just a shape shifter.
I don't recall that but if so then I stand corrected. I'd like to think her skill as an illusionist is limited to hiding someone who is there (more or less a cloaking device) and not being able to make someone appear as a third party, or summon a vast army of imaginary people. In any event this scenario was answered by DaWhim's post above mine:
This is a fair guess as to what happened. IIRC in the "present timeline" Hiro hasn't meet Peter nor Sylar so this may lead to the confusion as to who Hiro actually stabs. Of course this means that for some reason Peter doesn't know that Hiro stabs him -- i.e. heat of battle or he's not totally aware of his surroundings because he's gonna blow.

The "future" Peter never saved Claire so therefore no healing powers. That's why the "future" Hiro came back to tell Peter about Claire.

You make a valid point we didn't actually see Peter use his healing power, but then wouldn't Claire be dead? Also as I understood it, last nights show was the future of the current situation after peter saved Claire.
Maybe he can only keep control of a certain amount of powers and needs to choose to release one if he becomes to overwhelmed. Or maybe it isn't even his choice.

Guys, I just watched the episode this morning after recording it last night, and the damn DVR stopped recording at the end of the show where Hiro and the other guy teleport back to the present (or so I guess). From what I saw, they teleported, they looked at each other with glee, and when they started to turn to the left and the camera started to pan over, that's the end of my recording. So I have no idea what they see or where going to look at.

Nice catch, brandonbull. Sylar killed a cheerleader, just not Claire. Hiro musta thought Sylar had her healing ability and HRG in an attempt to keep Claire safe didn't tell him the truth.
So I'm suggesting that in the "future's timeline" Sylar killed a cheerleader and (that may have prompted or) at some point HRG hid Claire. In "future Hiro's" research he heard about a healing cheerleader and mistakenly thought he needed to prevent Claire's death, thus sending Peter the message on the subway. (The major event of a cheerleader dying didn't change but "present timeline" Peter was able to gain Claire's healing power.) However this only works if "future" Peter somehow has an encounter with Claire or Hiro mistakenly thought Peter's (as Sylar) survival from the sword wound as a HERO "healing" power. The former is the better scenario.

Got me as well. Mine ended right after Peter and Sylar were about to fight in the hallway and the camera went back to Hiro 'frozen' in the other room. I assume they teleported back but was ticked that I may have missed a Peter v. Sylar throwdown. So, do I need to go watch the episode online or did nothing happen between them other than some grand standing?

actually, future hiros problem is, he thinks Sylar is the one that caused the explosion and not peter petrelli.
the issue is not sylar but peter. yes, sylar must be dealt with because after said explosion the world sylar creates will be unbearable, sylar is definitely an evil, but there is also the separate issue of the NY explosion which isn't sylar but peter.
