I donno, but out of all the characters, I think he certainly gets the shaft when it comes to his power being beneficial... well, maybe Nikki's tied with him.
EDIT: By beneficial, I mean actually making his life better because of it. So far he's been suspended, found out his wife didn't want little Matty and lost his chance at the FBI (but it also GAVE him that chance too).

thanks to the power of the internet, youtube has previews for the next episode the same night. they also have the canadian versions of previews that are almost always better than the us counterparts. just look at this week, the us one is a dumb vista plug with a stupid tagline while the canadian one actually gives some info!

and yeah, the show started off good.. but then trailed off. I really wanted a petrelli flyer to fall out of the car or something for claire to pick up. yes, it would have been too easy, but dammit, make some damn connections.

Toward the end of the scene, the cordless phone was half-melted on the table. I'd say he can melt plastic at the least, maybe more than just metal and plastic.

I went back and looked, you're right. I thought it was only sitting in a pool of metal.
Altho, why isn't he using Eden's power on Saresh? Or is Saresh immune to it, still not sure if he went back on his own or it partly had to do with what eden whispered to him way back in the earlier episodes

It's just that he has a weak personality, so people easily take advantage of him. No matter what his powers were, his wife was still gonna cheat on him, and he would probably get dumped from the force for something else anyway. Therefore, it's only ironically fitting that he gets a power that people can't actually 'see'.

So, is Sylar a good guy now? He claims to have had an epiphiny (sp?).
The thing is, if Sylar tags along with Doctor Suresh (sp?), he can only kill one person and take their abilities before Suresh stops helping him find more people? Has he turned to a good guy while Parkman has turned into a bad guy?
And this show better stop with the character intro crap and get moving on with the story! AS far as my interest goes, it already feels like where Lost is right now. The same ol' dragged out crap.

Once he has the physical location of the remainding Heroes, he can go back anytime he wants to and kill them.
Parkman must have been a sucky cop, he didn't go back and wipe his prints from the metal case that he just left on the table after pocketing the diamonds!

Sylar was playing a character...also he could easily tag along and just not kill people in front of Suresh.
Parkman made a call of emotion. He was already to turn what is probably a lot more than 2 million dollars worth of diamonds in and the legal eagle on the scene was mentally bashing on him despite him being thrown out a window and the 'target' being literally torn apart.
No one knows what his plan for the diamonds (which were obviously not of legitmate channels) is...maybe he will donate them anonymously to someone, maybe he will use them to fuel his war on linderman.
PEOPLE! Let's focus on whats important! Sylar can now melt people's skulls.
