Heroes **SPOILERS**

I just watched the season finale and I'm freakin' confused.

Sylar -- Still alive?
Peter -- He has Claires power, would he still be alive? HE only gets the powers temporarily, correct? How long do they last?
Nathan -- Fucked?

EDIT: I'm going back and re-watching all the episodes, and in episode 20, future Peter still has Ted's power. So that means it's not temporary?

When Peter was training with the invisable guy, he was pushed off the building and fell into a car. He healed even though Claire wasn't around at the time (can't remeber if she was in New York at the time) so the powers do last a pretty long time if the even wear off.

With Sylar and Peter you have to wait until next season for any definitve answer.

Bingo. Note that plot line in the future where Peter had all those powers.

Question though. Wonder if Sylar had peter's power, he'd still kill all the people to take their power.

EDIT: How powerful is claire's power anyway. I figure if his very atoms split, how he'd heal or would they just conveniently leave that alone.

Sylar is still alive. Consensus seems to be that Peter survived, and possibly Nathan.
And yes, he retains the powers.

It seems that any massive brain trauma inhibits the power, so I think every atom in his body taking a vacation in a different place would prevent healing.

That seems to be how it's going. I was just confused because of two things.

1. That makes Sylar and Peter very similar. I didn't think they'd have tow people so similar.
2. I swear there was an episode where it's said that Peter only gets the powers temporarily, but perhaps it was just speculation (must be, given what has happened).

Not sure, but in the 5 years later episode Peter says it was him who exploded, and he survived. So I guess that's my answer?

1) one good, one bad. pretty typical i would think.
2) that was mostly because peter didn't know WTF he was doing. he still doesn't 🙂

In addition, the actors that play Peter, Nathan, and Sylar have been hired for full time cast work on the show. I think that it is safe to assume that they are still alive.

The most common theory I have seen is that Nathan takes his brothers then "throws" him in to sub-space and flies away. Once Peter goes ka-boom he flies back and catches him. Ted (where Peter and Sylar get their exploding power from) does not get hurt when he blows, so it is safe to assume that Peter and Sylar also do not get hurt when they go nuclear.

on a side note, the future episodes is one of the best episodes off the season IMO.

Too bad Sark's going to come in and kill them all! just kidding...but I am pretty excited about the new cast additions.

How does Sylar actually get the powers? The whole removal of the brains thing seemed to indicate that has something to do with it, and not just simply absorbing powers from proximity like Peter.

Also, how does Sylar heal himself? Remember, he got shot up by the cop in one of his first appearances on the show, and I don't think he had met Claire yet, if he does just absorb powers like Peter.

One thing I always thought about with the healing is that basically, he's extremely talented at seeing how things work. So he'd understand what damage was done to the body and be able to have his body "force-heal" himself.
