Previous (one and only) Heroes thread

I'm starting this thread mostly because the previous one is getting too bloated and slow.

IMO, if the title is any indication, none of the characters blow up (at least not to the extent where half of NY is asploded as well). Although considering how willing the writers have been in killing off characters, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of main characters die.

i predict peter petrelli saves the day somehow... if i REALLY wanted to know, i'd read the 'heroes' online comic... there are always spoilers in there.

I don't think anyone's going to blow up because it wouldn't be much of a comic book if the heroes didn't save the day, would it?

I voted for bomb explodes. I don't think they can change the future. So far everything Isaac painted is true.

This episode kicked ass! When HRG came up from behind, he shot that guy a bunch of times without even hesitating. When DL pulled out a piece of Linderman's brain.. damn that was hardcore!!!

The future isn't set, that was only a possible future, the most probable future considering the current course of actions. Hiro and Ando have seen that future and thus they can now change the actions that would lead to that future.

Hiro: "I understand, father. To save what is most important...I must be strong enough...to cut out my heart."

Hiro could kill himself and <sylar>boom</sylar>, no future that you're thinking of.

Bennet was hiding him. When Future Hiro goes to see Bennet, DL was on the list of persons that he was looking for.

I think someone will explode, but Im not sure who yet. Im pretty sure that Hiro will kill Sylar, but it looks like Peter has his power under control...

That was pretty sweet when DL killed Linderman, but it was sorta gruesome. After it happened, I turned to my wife and said, "that was kinda nasty, wasn't it."

Also, when Bennet shot that guy without hesitation...that was cool.

I think Peter is going to get close to Nicki, develop a split personality, not be able to control it in time, and then blow up. Hiro will of course slash him across the face in the process before blinking to some other time.

Did Parkman get punched out or shot by Mohinder? Didn't quite catch that. In the previews for the finale, it looks like Parkman's been shot.

It also looks like DL lives as there's a shot of him sitting with Niki/Jessica, Micah and Molly. Or maybe this is just to throw us all off? :p

That's because Sylar already killed him, hence how he pulled Peter through the door.

He was hit with a fire extinguisher.

2 hour finale is awesome in its own right, but since I download Heroes, that means it will take twice as long to download (10 minutes instead of 5!) and it will come out an hour later than normal :( (actually a little longer since it takes about twice as long to encode it). Damn you local NBC, broadcast in HD!

Sylar needs to battle Peter in the current time with the nuclear power again... but use some red light where Peter uses blue light . They can even use the Force push technique!

Actually, the reason i brought it up is because Sylar in the future has DL's power, meaning he killed him.
But someone else already mentioned that the preview shows us he is still alive.

And just when we can't get enough audience-vote-them-off shows, here's one more. I guess this could be different since these are characters with at least depth (at least I hope so if one of them will eventually be a part of the Heroes storyline) unlike most crap we see on reality TV where so-called "real" average people play characters with no depth and no shame.

'Heroes' Expands Universe with 'Origins'
Stand-alone episodes will help NBC cut down on repeats
By Rick Porter
May 14, 2007

Tim KringNEW YORK -- You want more "Heroes"? NBC is going to give you more "Heroes" next season.

The network has hit upon a way to keep the show repeat for nearly the entire season, ordering more episodes of the show and embarking on a quasi-spinoff called "Heroes: Origins." Combined, the shows will account for 30 original episodes next season.

"We've got something I call the 'bulk-up challenge' for next year, which is trying to stay more consistent in our scheduling for the audience," NBC chief Kevin Reilly told reporters Monday at a press conference announcing the network's 2007-08 schedule. "We asked ['Heroes' creator] Tim Kring to come up with an idea, and what I love is not only did we bulk up with 30 hours next season, but also a whole new idea which I think is going to take the show to the next level."

The "Origins" series will consist of six stand-alone episodes, with each one introducing a new character and telling his or her back story. They'll take place within the "Heroes" universe but won't be tied into the main arc of the series, although one or two regular characters may pop up.

It will also carry an interactive element: After all six "Origins" episodes air, viewers will be able to vote on which character joins the main show the following season.

The idea for "Origins" springs from positive fan reaction to several side characters introduced this season -- Reilly cites Charlie (Jayma Mays), the waitress with the perfect memory, as an example -- and a desire to avoid momentum-draining breaks like the one the show took earlier this spring.

"I don't think the audience minds taking a week off, particularly during the holidays," Reilly says. "It's just the long hiatuses or weeks worth of repeats where we get in trouble."

Just how the "Origins" episodes will be scheduled along with the main "Heroes" storyline has yet to be worked out. The most likely scenario, Reilly says, will be to have "Heroes" start its second season in the fall and run more or less straight through its 24 episodes, with perhaps a short break during the holidays. "Origins" would then follow at the end of the season. Another option would be to run "Origins" "as a chunk" in the spring, before the concluding episodes of "Heroes."

"I'll tell you one thing you won't see is 'Origins' peppered throughout," he says. "I think that would be difficult for the audience to navigate."

I need more Heroes now though :(.

It's almost strange, I used to rarely watch TV but now I find myself almost having a program on every night...

Sunday: Dexter
Monday: Heroes
Tuesday: House
Thursday: Shark, My Name is Earl, CSI (LV)

I'm going to derail a bit, but I've never been a huge fan of The Office. I even bought season 1 on DVD per my friend's advice and I should've known I wouldn't like it being that its origins are in british comedy. The only two British comedies that I've ever enjoyed were Hot Fuzz (good movie) and The IT Crowd (great show, season 2 should be starting sometime...). I just don't like the type of comedy where everyone's all serious, someone stabs someone and the person exclaims, "You... you staaaaabbed me!" and it's supposed to be funny. Buuuuut it isn't?

Did you come up with that yourself? Not bad... :)
