there is also some sort of prequel digital release playable only on their app. if you watched the new trailer, it seems to focus on the bearded guy that comes up to hrg and a powered chick I'm assuming he dated.

I stopped watching Heroes after a couple of seasons because it was just getting too fucking stupid. I'm giving the reboot a shot but so far I'm not optimistic.

I liked it the first time I watched it through, and then I tried to watch it again and realized that after the first season it was just ridiculous.

Just finished the two-hour premiere, and honestly... it felt disjointed. I think the biggest contributor to that is that they introduced far too many characters right out of the gate instead of bringing them in "naturally". It also seemed weird for Chuck and his wife to
be on a mission to kill "freaks" (Evos) and they end up killing any human that might happen to get in their way as well.
The most awkward part was probably the weird video game sequences. I guess I know why some of the CG effects looked like they were from the original series -- they blew their budget on that quirky looking game.

First episode was stupid. 😀

Typical.....NBC never seems to get its shit together when it comes to pushing out viewable shows.

This'll be cancelled after about 8 eps. Bank on it.

Never watched the original but nothing else was on today so I gave the second hour of the premiere a shot... The hell happened?

Heroes suffered the same fate as Lost. The writers clearly didn't have a plan after the first season.

Pretty much this. Some of the better shows recently have shown how important it is.

When you don't have a -general- idea what seasons 2, 3, 4... look like, you have to retcon shit in or leave massive plot holes.

edit: It's like in GoT where in I think seasons 5 it's revealed that Littlefinger was behind the action that started the series in episode 1 season 1. You can't pull that shit off unless it was in your head before you every started filming.

Holy jesus - I gave this a shot last night since I didn't see anything else on and I nearly blew my brains out. There are like fifteen different plots going on all at once and while I realize they must tie them together somewhere...it didn't seem like the right way to start the season.

Not to mention it seemed like they were really trying to build off the original series, of which many people either wouldn't remember or never watched. I think this needed to stand alone and maybe give bits of tie in with the original series, but not build off of it as much as it is.

Blech.

Actually there weren't 15 different plot stories going on. There were about 4, with a bunch of background building snippets, to give you an idea of how this series will go.

Not hard to understand, and if you liked the 1st season, this one is looking to be about the same.

New show, a little of the old, with all the new players getting their intro stories.

No interest. I watched one of the original Heroes and didn't get it or understand it at any level. Then watched 15 minutes of a 2nd. Turned the channel. I watched 5 minutes of a 3rd episode, and said that's it. I never understood what was going on.

And lets be honest, with no cheerleader to save, what's the freaking point?

Meh...I never could get into the first series...but I still tried to watch the pilot. Made it about 15 minutes before I changed the channel.

Shows like this where everybody seems to have superhuman powers almost always suck unless you go out of your way to have good drama. Otherwise, it's just short attention span theater where the writers try to keep pulling new powers out of their ass to try to keep people interested.

Oddly enough, the only decent use of this trope I've seen recently is the Powers series on Sony's Playstation network. The acting is kinda cheesy but it's a pretty good story where emotional conflict keeps the ridiculousness of superhuman powers in check and lets the story develop in interesting ways. I mean this isn't BBC/Masterpiece level drama but it's still a good story.

Watched the actual first episode for new season last night, not that weird pre-episode thingie that was out.

I enjoyed it a lot...I liked the wow reference with Katana Girl..still unsure about that part of the show though.

It's pretty good stuff...weed helps a lot though.
