Heres two things America got right

Love the concept, hate the actual execution. The car is about 800lbs too heavy and the interior reminds me of a Ram truck. Seems that only Ford got it right this round.

Agree x 1000.

The 1970 Dodge Challenger >>>>>>>>>>>> Modern Challenger.

I hear hotchkis might come out with some actual chassis strengtheners so not only will the suspension be modern, but the reinforced chassis should help even further.

Awesome commercial. The Challenger looks drop dead sexy but I agree that it needs to go on a diet.

2011 Challenger gets the updated 500HP 6.4l SRT hemi correct?

The interior is superior to the Camaro by far and the SRT seats are reskinned Viper seats. back seat is roomy & trunk is huge as well. While not as nimble as teh GT or SS, it wills keep up in a straight line.

This isn't the best idea, but a lot of car crafters have been tooling around with the 6.1 small block, boring it/stroking it, and even putting new intake manifolds on it, so that even with electronic fuel injection, the slots on the challenger can be used as ram-air vents, or close to it.

Car Craft Magazine has a cool article on it in print right now.

I honestly don't think you can compare the challenger to the mustang or camaro. Dodge designed it from the start to be a significantly larger car. You can actually get two adults in the back seat without having them contort into a pretzel. The trunk is surprisingly roomy. It's bigger in almost every dimension.

While it loses in outright performance there are some people that want a larger 2 door vehicle that still has some sportiness to it. The car magazines compare it to the camaro and the mustang because they are the most similar but in the end the challenger doesn't quite fit with those other two.

I have to hand it to them... the Challenger is definitely the sexiest (looking) of the "modern classic" cars. I'm a big Mustang fan, but if anyone got the exterior right, it was Dodge with the Challenger.

...Then again, they screwed up the looks of the Charger so bad that I still can't forgive them.
