The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned in Texas because it contains a formula for making beer at home.

You may not throw a bad pickle in the street.
Pickles are not to be consumed on Sundays

In NYC-

It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing "body hugging clothing."

They can finally lock up all those whores!

But for some reason in NYC-

Women may go topless in public, providing it is not being used as a business.
 
Check out the the page for Georgia, then scroll down to Kennesaw. that is where I used to live. Notice that all citizens are required to own a firearm.

I remember when this was passed back in the 80s. It was in response to high crime rates, and also because there was a serial rapist running around in the area. Well shortly after that law was passed, he was shot and killed while breaking into a college students apartment. She heard a noise in the living room, and got here 9 mm. she saw him try to enter the bedroom, then opened fire. 5 shots, 1 to the head, the other 4 over various parts of the body. Well, after that, crime took a sharp nosedive. Now about all the police do is write sppeding tickets, and solve the "barking dog" issues.

Redlands-
Motor vehicles may not drive on city streets unless a man with a lantern is wallking ahead of it.

One may not carry a lunch down the street between 11 and 1 o'clock.

San Francisco-
Prohibits elephants from strolling down Market Street unless they are on a leash.
It is illegal to wipe one's car with used underwear.
Persons classified as "ugly" may not walk down any street.
It is illegal to pile horse manure more than six feet high on a street corner.
Giving or receiving oral sex is prohibited.

 
The laws on that site aren't serious, contrary to what they might want you to think. State legislatures commonly used to pass silly, joke laws for fun, often at the urging of the public. For example, in AZ it was illegal to support any college team other than ASU, which was passed to support the ASU football team. Obviously, few of these laws are ever enforced.

But I agree that they shouldn't pass unserious laws, even as a silly joke. Some @sshole police officer could come along and use it as an excuse to give someone trouble if they "threw a pickle down the street".
 
That Arizona law about 6 girls living in a house is actually enforced. The sororities at U of A and ASU cannot have houses. I dunno how they do it at U of A but at ASU each sorority gets a floor of some special dorms. It's the same deal at Riverside in Cal.

Sharkeeper, I've seen similar signs on the 15 out to Arizona. maybe it was the 40, I don't remember 🙂 We took a picture of my buddy thumbing a ride in front of the sign, it was amusing. Sadly, I dunno where the picture is, otherwise I'd post it.
