Sweet! Did you get it networked via Airport as easily as I did?

Funny thing about all this is that notfred and I were both at the same Apple Store at Valley Fair mall in San Jose at the same time yesterday, and we didn't know it.. 😛 😀

At least it looks pretty.

Do you have any links to better laptops at better prices? They must include a Unix-like OS for ease of use, a great processor, last a minimum of 3 hours on battery, 802.11b included, and firewire. The OS must be fully supported too, not this "load linux on it and hope everything works!" stuff. 🙂

and it comes with ssh too. i went to the apple store at the mall. i was playing around with the new imac and loaded up the console app. then i sshed to my computer at home.

How about a Compaq 2800T w/ a P4 1.7GHz CPU, 15" SXGA+ TFT screen, 256MB DDR RAM, ATI Radeon 7500 w/ 32MB DDR RAM, 20GB HD, 24X CD-ROM, 66WHr battery, 802.11b integrated module, Windows XP Professional, and Free carrying case.

All for $1578 before taxes and shipping.

About 5lbs.

Not bad, huh?

The screen is bigger than what I would go with (probably heavier), but thats a preference thing. I doubt you will get 3 hours of use on that, no Unix-like OS, and costs more.

EDIT: Missed the weight, not bad!

I've been drooling over the 2800T and the Toshiba Portege 2000 for a while now. The Toshiba is SUPER THIN, 2.6 lbs, 12.1" screen, built in WiFi, and it comes w/ and extended battery that lasts well over 5 hours. *drool*

I like your iBook, btw, notfred 😀

i lub my 2800t =]

only bad thing is the support- its not nearly as good/ reliable as Dell. btw does anybody know how to take the keyboard out? cant find instructions on the website 🙁

Who's the woman in the pics, she's not bad looking.

What's her phone number?

*slaps on some cheap cologne, removes the wedding ring*

Ok I'm just joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

😀

nice computer. now move the dock to the left, keep it hidden and make it transparent. much cooler.

also, if you don't know about it. you might like carracho.

They don't come in purple, only white 🙂

My girlfriend is jealous of my new ibook, she thingks it's cooler that her compaq laptop cause it's got DVD/CD-RW and wireless networking. Yes, she's the girl in the pictures...

She was mad at me when I brought it home, "What, you spent how much?!" but now she wants one 🙂
