whats with the huge AGP markup anyway 🙁
... the extra bridge chip and slightly different power circuitry. manufacturers charge whatever they want for that. the PCI-E version is a more simple card.

It just came out too so yeah. I'd say don't bother. Upgrade your system to PCI-E and SLI the mofos.

i have a 6800 GTO PCIe, im interested in upgrading my older AGP rig to a dual-DVI card and really like the XFX 6600gt but it retails for 220+ everywhere... 🙁

nice subject, very descriptive, it fits just about every thread
Topic Title: Here's a hot deal for you!!
Topic Summary: 6600gt for $178

if he put which site is selling it, that's it's PCI-E and that there's tax in CA, his title would be perfect.

You can unmask the pipelines on the gto to get gt performance and perform a slight overclock to 350/1000 from 350/900. then you have the same performance...

i know about that. but i havent seen any hiccups yet with games like HL2 turned on to most details etc and i have yet to play games for more than 15 minutes on my PCIe based Dell (which is definitely a shame) but i was going to go buy another AGP based Dual DVI card anyway, and instead of going with lower end 9600's, I was thinking about getting the AGP 6600GT so the other system can handle games (again I play games so little on my main rig i don't know why I need another rig capable of gaming but oh well im a geek)
