do you ever type someone's user name or even full name in a search engine so you can see if you can find out more about them?
do you think its weird or stalker'esk to do this?

i personally have never done it and never thought to.

edit: i mean specifially for people you only know on internet forums and online.

I looked up some old friends that I haven't talked to in years one day at work when I was real bored.

Google is dangerous. :) Seriously, I tried it on my roommates' names and I found things on them 5-6 years old that date back to their early high school years. All the stuff that's out there is kinda scary sometimes.

heh, I have done it to check up on old friends.

I remember when Google indexed USENET. I found my very first post! It was a question about a car...VW Golf GTi (Dec 1996)(replacement for the Oldmobubble at the time). :)

Very cool!

Very scary. We leave all kinds of crumb behind us :) I don't care. Let em get to know me. Might scare em off!

My First USENET post...gosh I was young

Well it is a reply to a message I made that week.

Sure. I've actually tracked down some long-lost high school buddies that way.

I used to for the longest time, then I just went ahead and got a classmates' membership. I did manage to find my ex-wife's married name after all these years. I had forgotten it and need it for a document.

I constantly search for friends and family in the news and reviews.
