Yeah... it's been used in a bunch of TV shows, commercials and movies. It's definitely not the type of music I listen to, but you'd have to avoid a lot of media to have never heard it before.
Watching tv and movies is pretty much all I do, and I've never heard it before. Is it recent? Maybe I just don't pay enough attention to the music in tv.
