there are much better bands than U2.

However, U2 does hold a record: Most overrated band ever.

You're right. They'll never live up to *insert any band here* in regards to success, wealth, and respect. If only U2 could actually do stadium tours with sell out shows every other night for 9 months straight like all those other Rock bands you see.

You also need three chords and the truth.

Edit: I like U2's music. If I let the personalities of famous musicians get in the way of my enjoyment of music I'd spend a lot of time whistlin'.

I wish other bands could have done that.

"Vertigo" proved that the average person really doesn't care what the lyrics say since they were pretty random. "Get On Your Boots" proved that you can only go so far with random lyrics and a stupid understandable chorus line.

Anyway, I like some of the stuff U2 has come out with in the last few albums but definitely not the pop songs on the albums.

Every artist or group hits a peak, generally with their debut album or maybe the second one and from there just goes to hell. It's happened so many times with so many groups. Thinking of ones from the mid 90's immediately I think of stone temple pilots, collective soul, oasis, counting crows. These were real groups with major talent. Now? Nobody gives a sh*t.

NIN & Tool got better w/ age. The Beatles got better w/ age....
