I am not saying there is anything wrong with your definition of pride, but this is how Mr Google defines it:

"A feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired."

I think pride in heritage fits under that definition. Unless I am completely wrong and you were talking about lions.
How does heritage fit into that definition? I'm just not seeing the connection. Is it the admired qualities? Isn't exhibiting those still actively doing something? Or do we disagree about what is "closely associated"?

In the most recent Wisconsin recount status I've seen - Trump has gained votes over Clinton. To all those on this forum who kept saying things along the line of well, because computer scientists said there is a strong statistical anomaly in Trump's favor, Jill Stein is pushing hard for the recount, and how much Trump is against a recount, you know there is something going on that the right doesn't want uncovered... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Even when both Obama & Clinton came out with statements there is no evidence of any election tampering, machine hacking, or significant error in ballot counting - your liberal minds still kept up the faith that there were problems this recount would uncover and nullify Trump's victory.

Time to start opening your eyes and seeing reality, rather than having your preferred media outlets tell you what reality is.

Unfortunately for you, almost no one said that, hahaha.

First you give me a load of crap about Southern Pride of our Heritage.

Then you agree ( at least partially ) that the South has made extensive contributions to the nation. You are confusing. I guess you "assumed" I was defending slavery, which I was not. I was only pointing out that the south has a lot to be proud of.
pretty much every area of the country can make the same claims though. Chicago was a music mecca for a very long time, NYC the same, Detroit, ditto. But the creation of the flag was long prior to any of that. So I ask again, what heritage are you proud of that the flag represents other than identifying it as a traitorous wannabe nation?

I wish someone would tell the "3-million fraudulent votes for Clinton" president-elect that tidbit.

Another indication how the "winner" is likely to be such a Loser.

Suppose we put all political careerists into the same category: they practice "propaganda." So do academics printing arguments in journals until -- hopefully -- the truth wins out. There's "white" propaganda, such as reasoned arguments. "Gray" is distortion. "Black" is the riskiest -- outright lies.

When someone insists that there are three fingers in front of you when they're showing five, you know beyond your nose and without the rubber hose that they're telling you an absurd lie. he's not going to "make us come together" with any of that.

This is different than any presidential administration I've known since childhood. Even with Dubya, I went forward to "live and let live" or "move on with life."

I want to see Donnie-Boy cut off at the knees as soon as possible by all constitutional means. No less than I'd want EPA to remove a toxic waste dump from my back yard as quickly as they could.

Day 7 in Wisconsin. Overall Clinton is now up a whooping 82 votes with the recount 70% complete! She now only needs 22,096 more votes to win!

With Michigan and Pennsylvania no longer in play, is Jill Stein still collecting money? Yep.

What was funny is that the MI recounts started casting a very interesting light on some of the Wayne county ballot counts before the recount got shut down. Apparently there were some shenanigans taking place there, and many of the recounts could not be done because the ballot counts didn't match the "official" tallies. Most of those were just off a single vote, which is no big deal, but there were some with some crazy numbers. With the recount now really shut down by order of the judge, we won't get further detail on the interesting Wayne county stuff.

I heard that on Day 1 of the recount in Michigan they started finding that the number of ballots recorded on the precinct poll books did not match those from the voting machine printout reports. This apparently occurred in 59% of the precincts. Some of these discrepancies were relatively minor, and some not so incidental. I heard there was one incident where a sealed ballot box in Detroit indicated 306 votes on the official election record count, but when opened it only contained 50 votes.

All the more reasons we need a full audit of the entire nationwide vote of this last election. It's the only way to find what's broken, fix it, and hopefully restore integrity to the process so people can't go shouting "fraud" every couple years without any actual evidence.

That's correct and the kahuna overseeing the election process in Wayne County stated that the voting machines were messed up and that sometimes the ballots had to be put through up to six times. (Hmm, 50 goes into 306 how many times?) He also said that the poll workers were supposed to subtract one from the count for each ballot put through multiple times but that they sometimes forgot. Riiight...

What was really curious is that he made no mention of the problems with the voting machines until the recount was started. Up until then everything was A-OK.

Bunch of corrupt bastards.

All voting in Michigan is done on paper ballots and read by machines that are not connected to the Internet. The type of nefarious activity alleged to have possibly occurred in Wisconsin could not have happened in MI. But we do now know that there were other means of rigging the vote going on.

For those wanting to recount the country to curtail fraud, how do you ensure that the most untrustworthy aspect of the entire process is kept in check? That aspect is the people overseeing the election itself. You're going to have to have a high degree of restoration of morals, scruples and a sense of what is right and what is wrong. We're light years away from that happening.

Until we can get an overwhelming majority to veer away from the 'end justifies the means' mentality we're stuck with what we get.

.

The most untrustworthy aspect of the entire process is corporations purchasing all the candidates in an election. Fix this aspect and you fix damn near everything.

Does that include verifying that all the votes that were cast were cast by legal citizens? I don't think a good audit of the voting process in every state is a bad idea at all, it would help restore some confidence in the process. It would be expensive and take a lot of time though.

Tennessee = the shithole the smart guys put the test nuke place in because of its geography.

modern conservatives - "Tennessee is the reason ww2 ended"
lol Dumbass. Tennessee is where much of the theory was developed and tested, and where much of the refinement took place. It is also where NONE of the testing took place. Might want to Google the difference.

And what do you have to say about George Washington, John Adams, John Adams Jr., Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Benjamin Franklin?
Pretty much the same, to lesser and great degrees. How anyone could sign on with "Every man is created equal and endowed by his Maker with certain inalienable results" and yet tolerate slavery is the very height of hypocrisy . . . except maybe for freeing one's slaves after one dies and thus can derive no further benefit regardless.

They were all great men and visionaries, but as bshole points out, they were also indisputably products of their age and I'd argue, of their own success and privilege.

He was a product of his time. I think he may be the founding father who had the largest and longest impact on America.
Could be. Certainly he's up there.

Fair enough. What is your opinion on liberalism overall?

Before he answers that question, could you give a full and complete definition of liberalism?

Is anti-theism liberal?
Is anti-war under all circumstances not involving existential threats liberal?
etc...

Every place with smart people is a place that happened to be where smart people put something because of its geography. Do you think California would be a world-leader in tech and entertainment if it had no beaches and bad weather?

Now we get to see how many dead people and ineligible people voted!😛

Seriously dude, you are really gonna come in here under the name "Real American Genuis"? Do you not find it ironic that real geniuses (like Einstein) never felt the need to advertise their genius but instead let the product of their genius speak for itself. I suspect you of being a Christian, where the assertion of a fact makes the fact true and to hell with evidence.
