Wow, WD's been around forever and makes some of the best consumer drives on the marked IMO.

I've had 2 Seagates die on me but never a WD.

I broke my leg and it hurts. Does your leg hurt too?

I talked to a Seagate employee a few months ago when they were going through the process of acquiring Maxtor. The Maxtor acquisition was a power play. They bought them to dissolve them, with hopes of getting at least half of Maxtor's market share. I believe they laid off all Maxtor employees in the states, but did keep some manufacturing in China.

So... bad bad news for WD if this goes through. Raptor drives ftw.

I have two that are still running just fine. Of course, I realize I'm just damn lucky :)

Damn... And I was hoping the RE2's would be around for a long time. I didn't see this coming... :(
