You could switch to Office 365. MS provides iOS and Android Office apps that are pretty equivalent with the WP apps. You just have to subscribe to 365.

BTW, a year of 365 is included if you have a Technet subscription.

Yeah, I plan on renewing Office 365. I had it for a while after the initial launch.

It annoys me that they are discontinuing TechNet.

Yeah, mine expires in Sept, so I'm going to renew it for another year in the hopes they introduce a new program within a year.

But I actually had no idea about the year of Office 365 until about a week ago. I felt dumb.

This is kind of comical because what Google is doing is even more transparent now.

Microsoft implemented ads that function properly (I played around with the app), yet Google shut them down immediately. I can't help but laugh at this because accessing YouTube videos from the mobile site almost never results in an ad playing, while the YouTube client Microsoft released played an ad prior to almost every video.

Microsoft's marketshare is growing, and it is a legitimate threat to the low-end market. I'm sure everyone has noticed that there are loads of third-party YouTube clients that don't display ads, yet aren't contested by Google - this is a very clear attempt by Google to cripple Windows Phone.

I haven't actually tried any of the apps, simply playing them through the browser has worked quite well for me thus far at least. But yeah, very very few if any ads through the browser it seems.
