Here is my possible setup for Crysis, is it solid enough?

I only play the latest games once through, burn dvd's and surf the net. I do not go back and play older games. Is vista 64 going to be any problem if I have no interest in older stuff? I like the thought of keeping ahead of things a bit. Does this sound pretty good? I only upgrade every 2-3 years.

you'll be fine, but note that if you just built the rig recently specifically for playing crysis, you would have been better off waiting for benchmarks, then purchasing accordingly

Your proposed system will be just fine for Crysis. It's really the best you can do right now without springing for a $400+ video card. My system is similar, and I play the demo at 1280x960, 2XAA, High settings (with a couple of "Very High" tweaks snuck in via the config file). Frame rate around 30. I'm using an 8800GTS 640, so you should be a hair faster.

Nitro, if you look at my sig you'll see we have somewhat similar rigs.

I, however, only have 2 GIGs and also the KO version of the 8800GT. I'm also running XP Pro 32-bit, and playing Crysis in 1280 by 1024, with ALL HIGH settings and NO AA, I get fps at an average of 35-45. The cut-scene's are around 25 or so.

All in all, the graphics are beautiful and its very very smooth. I will wait for future benchmarks (and the game to actually be released to the public ;)) to see how well 64-bit does with this game, with that, I'll consider Vista.

Hope this helps. This game rocks btw.
