Pah, all this modern stuff with them ever in the way Windows keys is crap. I'm glad I've got a little stack of Siemens K200 keyboards in the cellar. They last a few years, so as long as there's a converter from ps/2 to whatever is the latest interface, I'll be fine :).

<<I have had the logitech cordless r/f kb/mouse for about 4 years now. I will never switch brands. I hate my mouse at work...it is right handed! being left handed the ergo crap mices bother me like hell!.>>

Well you already said you wont switch brands, but I would say the Microsoft Wireless Desktop is a great cordless keyboard/mouse combo. It's a good keyboard, and it has a very good ambidextrous mouse with 4 programmable buttons. And I dont agree with the second sentence, because the Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical, an ergo mouse, is the best amidextrous mouse in the market, Im right handed and I like mine very much.

<<I would have jumped on a logitech wireless/optical mouse combo, but they don't provide a universal mouse with it only that damn right handed version.>>

Well like I said that Microsoft Wireless Desktop combo is very good solution. I have the black Logitech CordlessFreedom Optical, and I especially like the keyboard, but please, we don't need damn anyone or anything, it's nobody's fault that you're left handed, and it's nobody's fault that righties outnumber lefties.

<<oh well. when will they realize that there are a larger % of computer users that are left-handed(~23%) than then the general population (8%)>>

Many left-handed PC users are in fact right-handed mouse users. Hey, maybe they got tired of the right-handed favoritism and decided to use their right hands, and you can do that too.

My personal favourite keyboard is a run of the mill IBM PS2 keyboard, the kind they (used to?) sell with their desktop computers. They are slim, unusually heavy, reliable, and have the nicest feeling keys - semi-soft, not mushy yet and not clickity, just right. Though I love Logitech's optical mouse, their keyboards are not to my taste - they feel light and flimsy and too mushy by comparison. The Microsoft Natural Keyboard just spews yuk all over my fingers.

I've recently searched where I can find a black version of this keyboard, since very soon it will be the last beige relic of my computer. If you have an "IBM Store" near you I highly recommend at least to go in only to try one out.

I'd love to find an aluminum cast keyboard of indestructable quality, but sadly I have never heard of such. I guess everyone but me is happy with $5 keyboards :(

<< A cult exists worshiping the old IBM PS/2 keyboard. It was the best ever made. >>

Hell, yeah. Just built a system for my mom using the one she still had around from our first computer in 1990. I'm there configuring stuff for her thinkin' about how I want to swipe the keyboard. Too bad she's an old school typist (lifelong secretary/office worker) - no way she'd fall for the cheap allure of internet hotkeys and ergonomic design...
