Here is a professional opinion on warning shot

Ever heard of ricochet?

Anyways, I've always thought warning shots is a combination, as in "I'm going to shoot you" follows immediately by "BLAM BLAM".

Ever heard of ricochet?
Ricochets off dirt, asphalt or concrete will not kill anyone, especially if you have any sense at all and aim it away from immediately close people.

A perfect example is the 90yo in the nursing home who was shot point blank with a shotgun and bean bags. He could have easily shot a warning shot into the ground and the 90yo could have lived another 32 days.

Please provide evidence of this.

I feel like being nice today, so I'll stop you before you answer:

don't fire lethal shots...you'll have to shell out on lawyer fees and possibly face jail time.

Don't fire non-lethal shots. You'll have to shell out on lawyer fees and possibly face jail time and possibly have to support the criminal for the rest of their lives.

In my opinion, shots are to be fired when your life or another's life is in imminent danger to stop threat(s). I'd rather be sure of stopping the threat.

yeah... every bit of valid advice i've seen has been IF you are placed in a situation where you need to discharge the gun, shoot to kill.

Shoot to stop the threat.

Don't get cute and go for head shots. Center mass, pull the trigger until the threat is gone.

I think you must also exclaim "Ima busta cap yo" in a forceful tone of voice.

I got yelled at in CPL training. We were practicing trigger control with targets coming at us, then retreating. I was having a bit of fun. I shot my target up then he started running away and I yelled "YEAH BITCH RUN!" The instructor reminded me that you need to act like you are being recorded at all times. Just in case you are.

I still passed :awe:

lol

That excerpt was at 16°. He was TRYING to ricochet the bullet into a target.
A warning shot wouldn't be done at that angle unless you're a moron.
More like 45-75°, where it would lose much more energy and would likely penetrate the ground (dirt and asphalt for sure).

Again, please post evidence supporting your statement.

You said a warning shot COULD NOT kill anyone. Please show us how the experts are wrong and you are correct.

man, so u should just shoot someone right off the bat? what do you think happens if you shoot a person? it goes right through the human body and then through about five of six things behind it.

Good to see you posting your idiotic, uneducated and ignorant ramblings in a thread dedicated to expert opinions on a serious subject.

I thought drawing a pistol was the equivalent of a warning shot. You're acting the fool, you see me draw my pistol, you're still acting the fool....blam, blam. Good shoot.

Your argument and linked evidence fell apart, so now you argue that my statement was an absolute.

A pistol round shot into the ground is NOT going to kill someone in most cases.

We don't need to do a scientific study to prove it.
Just use a little experience and common sense...

So you can't backup your claim?
