The government wastes money in droves. If governments at the state and federal level ceased some of the BS social welfare programs, the government would save billions easily. Even as it stands, you could slash most federal budgets by 10% to 25% and not really harm the organization. Undeniably, some of those organizations would have to rethink how they operate and re-organize into a leaner entity, which isn't a bad thing.

Reading through this thread, as a Louisianian, I had no idea there was such a clash among the east-coasters.

And please stop talking out of your arse. Had to go from Winchester to Reading today. Drove thru Woburn and to my surprise the majority of sidewalks weren't even plowed along Washington St, a major road. People were walking in the street on Washington St slowing down traffic. The 128 overpass had about 2 feet of snow on it's uncleared sidewalks. Winchester and Reading were in better condition.

Just got back from running thru Harvard Sq, Central Sq, MIT, Kendall Sq, Musuem of Science then along the River. Outside of a few spots (Long Fellow Bridge and BU Bridge), the sidewalks were in great condition. Had a nice ten foot wide cleared sidewalk the majority of the way. I'm guessing if I had to run in Woburn I would have had to stick to the streets. :p

From the info you've given, you work at Vertex Pharmaceuticals don't you? I guess you don't keep up with the latest news - Vertex extends Cambridge leases. :p

I guess I'm stuck dealing with your inferiority complex for another 5 years. But I guess I can look on the good side, Vertex and your employment here, keeps my property tax rate lower than Woburn. :p

Keep to ourselves? You're the one bitching and crying. I'm just here to correct your sourpuss ignorance. Outside of your sidewalks from my observation today, I don't bad mouth Woburn(I love Lowes) or people that live there except yourself. But you'll bad mouth everyone in Cambridge, talk about how you want to drive over pedestrians crossing the streets, yet you work here. You'd think that if MA was such a lousy place, you and your wife would be able to find better jobs in NH.

Seriously, seek some professional help. Life is too short to be so bitter and miserable.

Easy there columbo, you're not even close to my employer so try again...though I am betting your continued guessing and posting of what you believe is personal information is getting close to the line of violating some kind of TOS with the site.

And with that, the article states the only reason that company is stuck in cambridge is because of the failure of the economy, chalk that up to the great dem leadership of the state like Barney Frank...go team!

As for the elections, I knew going into them that I represented the minority in this state, as I always have....loonbag nutjobs who share your viewpoints rule in this land of idiocy...which is why we as a state are broke and in a state of disarray and as inhabitants are facing yet more fees, taxes, and corrupt government.

And I have to get some of the koolaid you're drinking as driving through woburn daily I have yet to see an unplowed sidewalk, unlike cambridge where one has to deal with at least an inch of ice on virtually every sidewalk, streets that are barely plowed, and just a horrible job on the whole. Though I do love seeing a town that is so "great" with social services and a sanctuary for illegals suck so bad when it comes to public works...too funny. Reminds me of your laughable experience with the T/MBTA/MBCR..you take the T on "special" occasions and viola you're an expert especially when compared to those of us who actually used it for commuting daily.... here you drive through a town once and bingo there is your data point...wheras I live in one town and deal with it daily, plus work in the other and deal with that daily also...

And next time you're out for a run let me know so I can aim for ya....

Easy on the god complex cave...not everyone in this state has to agree with you...heck I will stay here longer just to piss you off.

What I don't get Noah, is how someone with a psychologist as a wife can be such an arrogant penis? you'd think that one would be more tempered in their responses in an online forum...heck I have an excuse, I am a bitter conservative living in a land lorded over by boobs who think like you :)

Actually I like Cambridge though i rarely get out there and almost never in the Winter. BTW, aside from Ski Resorts there's actually places in MA that doesn't suck during the N.E. Winter?

Cambridge is old, crowded, dirty, and other than MIT boring....Harvard SQ is nice, but places like near the Galleria or Kendall are just not that great IMHO.

As for winter, when I grew up the south shore was ok, not familar with it now though. I really liked Western MA but they had a rough go of it with snow as they typically got more than near Boston.

Well I've worked in places like Lyn so to me Cambridge seems OK.

I guess it is a matter of perspective then because when compared to a Lynn, Brockton, or even Worchester Cambridge would seem decent enough....but when compared to better parts of Boston proper, or other cities/areas out there it is kinda dumpy.

Why would you compare Cambridge to anything other than... Cambridge? The city is so unique. Yeah, parts of it are a dump, but parts of nearly every piece of Boston and the surrounding towns are dumps. Cambridge has a great combination of upscale dining, dive bars, hippies, yuppies, immigrants, etc that it is probably one of the most vibrant and unique places out there.

... This statement coming from a guy who doesn't even like Cambridge that much.

As for the taxes, I understand the need to raise revenue, but the biggest failure here is to see that the healthcare proposal either needs a radical overhaul or needs to be dumped. It's a money pit.

Actually Beau, there are certain aspects of Cambridge that I do like, Harvard Square is one of them, but I like to infuriate Caveman as much as possible...thus whenever I deal with him I am sure to post something that will get his panties in a bunch...plus I really dislike the people in cambridge on the whole, they are a bunch of self ritcheous self important liberal loonbags that epitiomize everything I dislike about this state and nothing that I like.

And for working there, well it could be worse, but still prefer working in a nice new facility in Boston proper or a suburb, wheras most companies in cambridge reside in rennovated smaller offices/buildings...which are ok but nothing like what I would prefer or am used to.

I do agree with your statement on the healthplan, though I am in favor of throwing it out...it is a joke and a money pit as you said.

Sure. Pwn'd

Again, drive down Washington St. Try to walk from those Luxury Apt's near BJs to the Post Office. Pwn'd

Inch of ice on virtually every sidewalk? Lie much? I must have been running with crampons yesterday. I'll make sure to bring them when I go running today. Pwn'd

You're so sad now, that you have to lie over and over again. If you notice, I don't get infuriated at all. I think it's funny. Instead of just attacking me, you have to attack Cambridge. Too funny. Should I start attacking Woburn? Where your property taxes are higher than mine? No, b/c I don't have an inferiority complex and think a dumbass like yourself represents the whole town.

Last I checked, you were the one who makes this "personal" by trying to slueth out every tid bit of info on my personal life...do you really think that makes your argument stronger or gives you some kind of an edge?? personally I don't give a crap about you, your beliefs, or anything else.. as far as I am concerned you are a nobody loser who feel compelled to take issue with every post I make on MA and politics.... you are the one who feels the need to go beyond the topic and attack my character....remind me when the last time I even bothered looking for and replying to anything you post? oh right I don't because I dont really give a rats ass about you or what you think, you just don't matter. Maybe this works with Dave since I noticed you love beating up on him alot, but I am not that guy....not by a long shot.

And what was that about being "owned"...at least I don't go out of my way to use lame ass internet jargon....and last I checked I said I went from a large company to a small company, the one you cited isn't "small".

And whoop, make fun of Woburn all you like...I don't care as I am the first one to say this place sucks...your the one with the defense complex hardon who has to champion everything these boobs do, especially when it pertains to your hometown of Needham or your love affair with Cambridge.

As for property taxes, I would hope Woburns are higher...we actually do things like fix roads and plow

And while I'm at it, I would have saved the forum the time of reading our little bitch fight, but unfortunately someone is too much of a wussbag to keep their PMs open...maybe growning a pair is an option for you in the future?

And FWIW I drove down washington today, as I do every day...and it was free and clear, cannot say the same for Mass Ave or any of the streets off of that...not to mention the massive pot holes that still linger near the Galleria...you'd think with how affluent Cambridge is they would have fixed those months ago since they were there before the fall....guess they are too busy supporting their safe haven illegals or their section 8 that is next to your house.

My real question is why does my not liking MA, Cambrige or whatever mean enough to you to bother writing this drivel especially when you know it won't change my mind or my opinions??

Maybe you and your wife should spend more quality time together...but here I am guessing that after years of being raised by conservatives she has a few different opinions than you do...thankfully I don't have that issue to contend with, but good luck with that.

Why would buy into a town that you don't like? Most people buy into a town that they like and want to live in. Weird or you're just stupid. Sorry, I guess I have some pride in where I live and grew up. And it's nice even in this economy that my property value is going up while in Woburn they're going down.

Wife is a psychologist, who has conservative parents? Can you lie much? Or are you delusional again? Please provide some proof, I look forward to it.

You drove down Washington St or walked it? Did you try to walk over to the Post Office without walking in the street? Nope. Lie again.

Pot holes? You do know that it's winter time right? Woburn doesn't have pot holes? I had no problem running Mass Ave for a second day in a row.

Thanks for the laughs!

Wow, so let me apologize...

After you first started internet stalking me the last time I decided what the heck...and unfortunately I didn't look hard enough, so I would like to say sorry, I confused you with someone that actually has a real life that is interesting but very liberal (figured what two meatballs would both use the same handle and be that similar from a fanatical political standpoint...whoda thunk there'd be two of you)....That guy had a pretty decent looking wife, he was younger (32) and both he and his wife had PhDs and she was being offered a tenured position with a pretty decent school...

After you mentioned the confusion I fixed my mistake, but was a little let down when I found some near forty year old single asian guy, has a lame internet name that starts with "mojo" and apparently for whatever reason is "stoked", there were a few sad pictures of said guy and then some with dogs.....honestly you would have been better off having been the first guy, Sorry for you man.

As for the rest, having seen that I now know it isn't worth my time....later dude.

 Suburbs vs City. Great comparison. Nice mantra. You do come across as a very self-fish individual. Hopefully, you don't let that rage get the better of you and you don't plow into some pedestrians crossing the street in Cambridge or walking in the street b/c they don't plow the sidewalks in your town.

Caveman, check my edit above.

And remember, there is always a bright side...at least you are:

a confident, successful, hardworking and fun individual who hasn't given himself as much time as he should for fun. I love being active outdoors, animals (I have 2.25 dogs), live music, dining(trying out new places), music, culture(museums, indie films, theater), traveling to new destinations(been to Israel and Vancouver, BC), and long conversations at coffee shops. I also believe in volunteering and helping others. I'm down to earth, love to laugh, thinks outside the box, handy and gives a great massage.

But really...IT project management from Finance? were you crazy?

I'm all about raising taxes on smokers. They will cost me more insurance premiums later when they develop lung cancer.
