Here come the BRAGGING Holiday Letters...

I can't stand recieving all of the annual Bragging Holiday Letters from friends and family.

Do you get these or worse yet...send them out?

How about a nice simple "Everyone is doing great...Happy Holidays"?

Yeah, I've got a few family members like this. They only live a half hour's drive away but I've never met them. Giant house with TWO furnaces, and she's the VP of a big insurance company. Allegedly. I doubt any of it is true.

It's just mentioning what's going on in the family. Not necessarily bragging. Women eat that stuff up. They love personal details. Nothing more important than keeping abreast of the relatives.
Besides, who would be eager to share that their daughter got kicked out of college; or, that they lost their house and are roaming the streets destitute.

I just get cards though. No year-in-review stuff.

Just send back "family updates" of your own.

Women really do absolutely adore to gossip, love love love it.

I think a card with pic of family is fine, but too much more does become braggy.

I never get Holiday letters. Nor have I ever sent any.

Christmas cards I do receive (usually people include a picture of their family) and I have sent some as well.

A simple message such as, "Hope your family has a wonderful Christmas season and a great new year", is all anybody really wants to see anyways.

Funny, my brother also lives in a giant house with 2 furnaces.

You guys are a bunch of duds. How does another family's successes take away from yours? Why are you in competition? I enjoy hearing from my family.
