What I don't get is what Trump voters are angry about other than their own lyin' Repub leadership. In the primaries, they haven't been the working class Whites that the pundits go on about but actually people who are better off than most-

I think they're mad about losing the culture war more than anything else. Trump blows those dog whistles the way Satchmo tooted his horn.

Rubbish. What they are pissed about is the loss of the certainty they live in the greatest country in the world. Everything today says, made in China. The rich will fuck their mothers for a buck.

It isnt even about who is more informed or who is "smarter". We've had very smart people running things for a long time. Its not like you have to be stupid in order to sell out your country to a few special interests. The point is that people like Clinton, Bush, and Obama have sold this country out. And all these people dumping on Trump have this constant need to downplay that one simple fact as if its not really all that important.

And besides, its not like Trump is stupid. Trump has a higher IQ than 98% of the clowns in washington, as well as 97% of the clowns who call him these silly names.

Yeah, I'm sure the Trump voters are "better than most" since they tend to be employed and responsible unlike large numbers of Bernie voters who make $0 or minimum wage and just want free shit.

I'm sure it came as a bit of a revelation for Trump when he discovered that people were so fucking gullible that Birtherism would sell. His whole campaign is an extension of how to exploit that kind of headset.

He's remarkably good at what he does, which is being a world class con man & charlatan.

His is a message of hope, just like Obama's. How did that work out for you. For me is sucked. Obama promised progress and shamefully fooled me. Trump promised disaster. Now I know where that will go.

I don't know that I'd call it a high IQ. But Trump definitely seems to have a special gift to persuade a significant sub-group of the American populace to believe in him. In the end, and just like it is to some degree (though not to Trump's extreme degree) with any other politician seeking to get elected (or re-elected), it doesn't matter to Trump what his actual beliefs are or what the actual truth about anything is; all that matters to him is that he says what he needs to say to persuade enough people to vote for him to get elected.

The problem for America is that being an effective President doesn't involve the same set of skills required to be a great Politician (which Trump seems to be).

For once you've posted something we all can agree with!😀

So, worship the Jerb Creators! for what they have wrought, obviously.

I hope you don't believe that. It would sadden me if you truly find hope in his message of bigotry and hate.

That's not where my hope is. My hope is that if he wins he turns out to be as big a liar as Obama is, that he's not actually all that bigoted or hateful.

He's already showing signs of being a hypocrite traitor. He's suggested that taxes may have to go up for the rich.

Fair enough, my friend. That seems like an awfully high-stakes gamble to me.

The great thing about it all for Trump is that potential followers' brains have been softened by decades of propaganda & blame shifting. They've been taught to believe in fantasies of all sorts & to blame the victims rather than the perps, the powerless rather than the powerful.

Donald just leads 'em a little further into simulated reality.

It's like you've finally seen the light! Is her musk wearing off you or something? D:

I'm not so terribly opposed to a border wall because I don't think much of a country that stands for justice, or says it does and then does nothing when people cut in line. There are also bad people bringing drugs up from Mexico, people I would rather didn't get through. I also don't believe we should let every old Muslim who is a refugee into the country and I would stop it till we are sure we have some idea at least that we have real people in need. I also don't think our international trade agreements are a good thing, I don't want our jobs going overseas. In short, I don't see so much of a gamble. I see a pragmatist businessman not a Nazi.

What I don't get is what Trump voters are angry about...

So you never listened to him or the people commenting about him.
Yet you find yourself here.

Jobs and Trade.

This is about labor and its deathknell. Americans are desperate for a revolution and would elect Hitler if they believed he meant it more than anyone else.

That same revolutionary restlessness let Sanders give Clinton a surprise contest.

Trump channels it on the basis of two issues. Seal the border and "deal" with China. This is what people think needs to be done most of all to help with the substantial losses that keep occurring in labor values.

Democrats stand against the call to arms this November. They stand against a revolution and they promise us a 20 year leap back into Clinton politics... which gave us NAFTA. Everything that we despise. Status quo is an existential threat.

You do not see the country before your eyes.

Having a change of heart here.
I had believed 100% that Trump was inevitable as the next president.
Especially with going up against Hillary Clinton. I'm having second thoughts....
If this Trump issue of late, recordings discovered of Trump pretending as his own PR rep, we can only wonder what else is out there?
I have a strong feeling this is just the tip of the ice berg.

And this one issue with Trump playing the PR rep may very well be laughable and blown off as nonsense, lacking of any merit, but what this does and has done is expose Donald Trump as an severely flawed individual.
A crack-pot with a mental disorder is one thing, but a billionaire with a mental disorder that wants to be the president? That is quite another matter.

Maybe Donald playing around with the telephone is cool and entertaining to most, but this exposes a fairly screwed up individual.
Then, add to that everything else he has said and done during this campaign, not some 20 years ago but within the last 12 months, and it all begins to add up.

Donald Trump is still the very same old Donald Trump.
Donald is a severely disturbed whack-o that would become quite dangerous if allowed outside of his own little privileged Donald Trump world.

Inside Donald Trump land, what Donald does or says doesn't really matter nor concern anyone else outside of Donald Trump land.
But as president?
Holly Shit !!!!!

I had assumed Donald Trump had this election in the bag.
A done deal.
But not after today.

No doubt much more will come out concerning Trump's past, his history. And in the end, the only support Donald will get on election day will be from his few loyal diehard fans.
Everyone else, those that hate Hillary plus those that had accepted the inevitability of president Donald Trump, those folks will never actually vote for Donald Trump.
Frankly, they probably will not vote at all.
But if they do, it will be for Hillary, not Trump.

And I see you don't actually read links.

It's remarkable how Trumpists manage to ignore how we got here which was their faith & their votes in support of the lootocracy as Jerb Creators. And they're still believing in all the same things, the same misdirection plays as always.

Sealing the border is a joke that Congress won't fund in any event. Evicting the illegals in this country is nigh on impossible unless we're willing to treat latino citizens rather badly. If you're White, why, it won't be much of an inconvenience, obviously.

Dealing with China means what, exactly? Is it their fault that American capitalists sell us their goods preferentially because there's higher profit margin in it? Raising tariffs just makes those goods more expensive. It doesn't mean that our own capitalists will transfer production to this country, at all, because we're now just part of a much larger world market.

The sad truth is that the only way Americans will be able to dip their beaks deeper into the stream of money is through higher taxation on those capitalists & redistribution because all the reasons we didn't need to do that are now gone.
